IIM Raipur in collaboration with IIM Kashipur is organizing an International Conference on Competitiveness, Competition Regulation and Corporate Strategy.The conference is to be held on the 3rd of December, 2014 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. AZB &Partners – one of the India’s leading legal consulting firm andCorporate Knowledge Foundation are also joining together as knowledge partners of the conference.
Four technical sessions will be held on specific topics related to Competitiveness and Competition Regulations in India. In thefirst session, Mr Dhruv M. Sawhney formerPresident of Confederation of Indian Industries and thecurrent Chairmanof IIM Kashipur; Mr John Pecman, Commissioner of Competition, Competition Bureau ofCanada; Mr Rajeev Kumar Agarwal , Member ,SEBI will participate in discussion onCompletion Regulation, Market structure and Corporate Strategy.
The second session will focus on Merger and Acquisition, specifically the Indian merger control procedures. Some of the notable speakers in this session will be Ms Ania Theiman,Global Relations Manager, OECD Competitions Division; Mr Marc Reysen, Reysen Competition Advice and Advocacy,Brussels; Mr Dave Poddar, Partner, Head of Antitrust Asia Pacific.
In the subsequent session on ‘Competitiveness and Management Education: Road Ahead’, Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur, Prof. PatrickGilormini of ESDES Universite Catholique de Lyon, France, Prof. G. Ramesh,Chairperson , Centre for Public Policy IIM Bangalore and Prof. Shekhar Chaudhuri, Director, SME, Shiv Nadar University will participate in the discussion.
The last session will deal with ‘Competition Regulation in India: Future direction’. Mr Anurag Goel, Former Member, Competition Commission of India; speakers from AZB & Partners; Mr R Srinivasan, Senior Advocate from Supreme Court of India, will contribute to this session.This will be followed by a valedictory address that will be delivered by Justice Ajit Pasayat, Former Chairman COMPAT and current Vice Chairman SIT on Back Money.
The international conference is expected to be attended by Corporate CEOs, top Business Executives, senior Policy Makers, eminent Lawyers, Economists, Researchers and Thought Leaders both from India and abroad. Many delegates from IIM Bangalore, IIM Raipur and IIM Kashipur as well as senior management from Coca-Cola, Google will also participatein the conference.
