IMT Ghaziabad Hosts Delegation from Ball State University and Kabul University

IMT Ghaziabad, India’s premier AACSB accredited management school, proudly hosted 16 delegates from Ball State University, Indiana, USA and Kabul University, Afghanistan on the 17th of August. The event was organized and managed by the International Relations Committee of IMT, consisting of students from both the first and second year.

The faculty members from both the esteemed universities graced us with their presence and their words of wisdom. The delegation is here in a bid to understand the various cross-cultural differences and to understand the procedures for accreditation. The guests were treated to four brief talks from IMT’s faculty over the following subjects: “Indian Business Strategy”, “Business Etiquette and Communication in India”, “Indian Business Markets” and “Geopolitics of India”.

The event began with a brief about IMT by Dr. Jayanthi Ranjan, Associate Dean of IMT Group which included updates about our current placement scenario, current ranking amongst other B-schools, the recent major events that we’ve organized and latest achievements, especially our upgrade with AACSB accreditation in our kitty. She also offered the visiting universities collaboration opportunities with Nagpur, Hyderabad and Dubai campuses. Dr. Jayanthi Ranjan elaborated on the various clubs and committees in the college which are aligned with our elementary idea of being ‘driven by students, while being mentored by teachers’ and also maintains our distinct focus on Innovation, Execution and Social Responsibility.

This was followed by an address by the Dean who stressed on IMT’s vision of developing business and society by strengthening the 3 pillars of impact, innovation & engagement and introduced the new curriculum structure. The fervor of business in India continued with lectures by Dr. Shalini Rahul Tiwari, Dr. Shailja Aggarwal and Dr. Anand Khanna who familiarized the delegates with Indian culture, history of business in India, the demographically vast markets in India and the opportunities and challenges they pose. Further, the delegates then attended a lecture by Dr. Sandeep Puri, which covered various aspects of marketing in the Indian context.

Finally, the delegates, who were highly appreciative of the students and the facilities at IMT Ghaziabad, were given a campus tour. The delegation seemed positive about the total experience and from the looks of it, a collaboration with these universities seemed bright on the cards.
