Another milestone for MICA as Professor Varsha Jain was presented with the prestigious award of “Best Researcher of the Year, 2018” by Centre for Education Growth & Research (CEGR). CEGR is an Independent and Non-Profit education think tank, dedicated to outcome-based, innovative and employability-oriented education by preparing the next generation as future leaders. CEGR National Council comprises 30 Chancellors and Vice Chancellors from various regions of India, Bureaucrats from AICTE, Association of Indian Universities and leading industrialists.

Best Researcher Award

The award celebrates the outstanding scholarship of Prof. Jain and her contributions to academic knowledge creation and research. The award was presented by Dr. A. P. MITTAL (Member Secretary, AICTE) on 21st December 2018 in New Delhi. This is the 5th consecutive award presented to Prof. Jain in 2018. Prof. Jain has earlier received the "Woman Academic Leader Award-ASMITA" “Prof. Indira Parikh, 50 women education award”, “Education Leadership Award” and “Woman Leadership Award for Excellence in Education”.

Best Researcher Award

Prof. Jain has been actively promoting the idea of Women Scholars in Academia. She believes if the circumstances related to work, family and social circle around women improve, they will definitely overcome any hurdle.  Prof. Jain is currently the Co-chairperson, FPM (Fellow Program in Management) at MICA, where she mentors Scholars. She has authored more than 100 publications in international, national and trade journals, book chapters and case study collections, including the Journal of Product and Brand Management, the Journal of Marketing Communication, Healthy Marketing Quarterly, the International Journal of Mobile Marketing and the Journal of Consumer Marketing, Young Consumers. She has also contributed case studies to the Marketing Management textbook 15/e with renowned father of Marketing, Philip Kotler. When asked the critical factor to knowledge creation by research, Prof. Jain said “The academia and the industry will have to go hand in hand with the policies of the country. Only then can we expect a research driven India”.
