MICA, India’s premier management school for Strategic Marketing and Communication, today announced the appointment of its former professor Dr. Rajneesh Krishna as the “Associate Dean and Area Leader – Strategic Marketing”. Dr. Krishna has previously worked at MICA from 2000 to 2014 and held various leadership positions. He will join MICA in the second week of August.
Dr. Krishna did his PhD from IIT Bombay. After completing his PhD, he worked at Drshti Strategic Research Pvt. Ltd. before joining MICA. His first stint at MICA began in the year 2000 as an Associate Professor. He has held various teaching and institution building roles at MICA. He conceived and established MICAMINDS – a student-led research and consultancy wing. He chaired Marketing Research specialization from the year 2001 to 2013.
He was instrumental in conceiving and introducing various courses like Applied Areas in Marketing Research, Consumer Insight Mining, Modelling in Marketing Research, Econometric tools for Marketing Research and Advanced Qualitative Research. He was appointed Dean, Research for a two year term. He was appointed as head of Curriculum Committee. He last served MICA as Professor and Head, Academic Affairs and Area Head, Digital Communication Management. Since 2014, Dr. Krishna has been working as the Dean at FLAME School of Communication, Pune.
Dr. Krishna’s teaching and research interests are in the domain of research methodology, marketing research, consumer insight mining, multivariate data analysis and consumer behaviour. He has published articles in various Indian and international journals like Demography India, Journal of Higher Education, Management Review and Brand management and Media Asia. His latest publication is a text book on Consumer Behaviour which has been published by Oxford University Press, India.
Commenting on the beginning of his second stint at MICA, Dr. Krishna said, “MICA is the place where I grew up as an academician. Coming back to MICA is like homecoming. And the learning that I garnered has given me a new perspective to look at MICA, appreciate it and contribute to its growth. MICA is on the verge of starting an incredible growth journey due to digital revolution. Digitization has increased the communication density and intensity in the community, businesses and culture. It has indeed become the key to success. MICA which has invested hugely in capacity building in this knowledge domain is poised to reap the benefits of the farsightedness of its founding fathers. And I am excited to be part of this growth journey.”
Commenting on Dr. Krishna’s appointment, MICA Dean Dr. Preeti Shroff said, "It is with great honour and gratitude that MICA community welcomes and celebrates the return of Dr. Krishna. His presence and contributions are integral to executing MICA's evolving strategic vision and strengthening the academic leadership team. He will provide direct support to the Dean for promoting industry relevant research and publishing in reputed International and National journals. He has been entrusted with leading the strategic marketing area, faculty and curriculum. We all look forward to learning from Dr. Krishna's academic and professional knowledge, expertise and wisdom."
Commenting on Dr. Krishna’s appointment, MICA President Mr. Madhukar Kamath said, “In the last few months, MICA has brought on board Dr. Preeti Shroff from the US as the Dean and Prof Siddharth Deshmukh from the UK as the Associate Dean for Industry & Alumni Partnership and also the Area Leader for Digital Platform & Strategies. With Prof Krishna coming in as an Associate Dean, the Research, Pedagogy and the Strategic Marketing Agendas will get strengthened immensely. This, I believe is just the beginning of an exciting journey for MICA."
