Criteria for selection of PGP-PGDM candidates for 2016-2018 Batch

IIM Calcutta

Students who have given CAT are eagerly waiting for their results. But we need to understand that process is not over yet, it starts here. You need to gear your preparation for WAT and PI for your selection into IIMs. Below is the selection criteria for IIM Indore for IIM CAT 2016-18 Batch.

Short-listing for Personal Interview (PI) through CAT for IIM

Candidates will be short listed on the basis of CAT 2015 score, past academic performance, and other criteria given below.

Minimum CAT 2015 Percentile for the PGP Batch of 2016-2018 .

Candidates eligible to be considered for PI

Category Sec1 – QA Sec 2- DILR Sec 3 - VRC

Total

OPEN ≥80 ≥80 ≥80 ≥80
NC-OBC ≥75 ≥75 ≥75 ≥85
SC ≥65 ≥65 ≥65 ≥70
ST ≥60 ≥60 ≥60 ≥70
DA ≥65 ≥65 ≥65 ≥70

Candidates securing the above mentioned minimum percentile in each category in CAT 2015 will only be considered for calculation of their composite score in Stage II (described below). Please note that the actual section-wise and overall percentile of a short-listed candidate may be much higher than the above mentioned minimum percentile as the short-listing for PI is done on the basis of composite score.

Calculation of Composite Scores for Short-listing for PI stage

The Composite Score is calculated on the basis of CAT 2015 score, Class X and Class XII aggregate percentages, and gender diversity factor.

Method of allotting points for Class X and Class XII percentages of marks based on aggregate scores is given in Table below:

Class X Marks  Points Class XII Marks Points
≥80 10 ≥80 10
≥ 75 and < 80 8 ≥ 75 and < 80 8
≥ 70 and < 75 6 ≥ 70 and < 75 6
≥ 65 and < 70 4 ≥ 65 and < 70 4
≥ 60 and < 65 2 ≥ 60 and < 65 2
< 60 0 < 60 0

Components and corresponding weights assigned for generating category-wise short-lists for the PI stage
