"Dare to fail and achieve the impossible"
John F Kennedy, former US President, once said, “Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly”. When someone treads on a path that’s never been taken by any individual, the rate of success is low and the possibility of a failure is high. Only when an individual is willing to take risks, can he achieve great things in life.
Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of light bulb, was aware that he was planning to achieve the impossible. In the late 1800s, when electricity was not heard of, Edison took a risk. There was a possibility that he could be successful, but there was a greater possibility that he could be a failure. If Edison had not dared to fail, we will not be able to read at night today. So, because great people were willing to take risks and dared to fail, we are able to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
When the chances of failure are high, an individual work harder to turn the elements of failure into success. A person who dares to fail is determined and ready to embrace new challenges in life. Only when we tackle challenges will we be able to contribute significantly to the society. In 2011, Anna Hazare embarked on a hunger strike to put pressure on the government to come up with a strict anti-corruption law. Fighting corruption in India is a difficult task. Some many even say it is impossible, but that did not stop Anna Hazare from ensuring the Lokpal Bill was introduced in the parliament.
It is because of the vision of great people that we are able to enjoy comfortable lives today. If no one was willing to take risks, we would be living the same lifestyle as our ancestors in the Stone Age. It takes a determined individual to come up with a revolutionary idea and make ‘Impossible’ tasks ‘Possible’. In fact, great people believe that ‘Nothing is Impossible’ because with determination and hard work, any task is manageable.
