According to the recent UNICEF report, there is a drastic decline in the sex-ratio ironically in the richest states of India with the country having lost over one crore girls since 2007. One stark and obvious result of female foeticide is the low proportion of women in some of India’s states. Taking this into consideration, IFIM along with OXFAM India and S.A.F.E shall organize the Kanyathon, as an awareness drive to curb female feticide. The three major objectives for Kanyathon 2015 are Save the Girl Child, Women Empowerment and Awareness against Female Exploitation.
Participants are required to register online by visiting: http://www.ifimkanyathon.com/ and pay Rs 250/- The proceeds of the event will be used for the cause of ‘Female Safety’.
