Grooming platform for you

KSOM has a unique culture of mentor-mentee relationship between the faculties and students. As part of this process, each student is assigned to a faculty so that individual attention with respect to academics, placement and any other issue is provided to the student.

KSOM understands the complications and challenges that a student faces while choosing his/her career paths. Hence, the institute ensures that grooming and preparation for the Placement process begin in the first year itself. Each student undertakes a Competency Assessment and a Career Management Program so as there is appropriate career guidance for the student and student selects a professional path which is in sync with his or her competency level. As part of these placement orientation programs, students are evaluated on numerous parameters to gauge their competencies, skill sets and areas of improvement. The output of the Program is shared with the faculty mentor of the student, so that each student is guided perfectly to choose his/her career path, besides getting enlightened for improvisation. There are 2 major aspects of industry experience for KSOM students. These are - Summer Internship Program (SIP) for the first-year students, and the final Placements for the second-year students.

Summer Internship Program that transforms you

Every student at KSOM is required to undergo an 8-weeks long Summer Internship Program (SIP), in a reputed organization to gain experiential learning in a corporate set up. SIP is scheduled during the months of May and June. Students are required to complete their internships before the first week of July, that is, before the commencement of their next academic session.
SIP for the MBA 1st year students, begins in the month of May, wherein each student is allotted a Faculty member to supervise the Internship. Organizations that select the students for SIP pay a stipend for 8-weeks. The stipend is meant for a substantial and tangible output which is required by the students to provide to the organization. Every fortnight the student, working as an intern, is required to appraise his/her Faculty member, about the progress at work, and obtain a sign-off from the corporate guide on completion. The Intern is then required to create a full Project Report and create a Presentation for the final evaluation at KSOM.

Employment Junction

The Placement season for the second-year students usually begins around October-November and continues till the month of May, the next year. The recruiter conducts a Pre-Placement Talk and provides the details of their Job Profiles, along with the short-listing criteria. Based on the above criteria, KSOM sends the resumes of the students to the recruiter, who then visits the campus and conducts the Placement process that includes Group Discussions, Personal Interviews, and written tests, with the support of KSOM’s placement cell.
