What is NMAT 2023 Exam?

NMAT 2023 is a national-level entrance exam conducted over a period of 75 days split over 5 windows. Students can self-schedule, reschedule and retake the exam thrice. NMAT is a computer-based test with NO negative marking. NMAT 2023 dates are announced in Aug 2023 and online registration starts from 1st August 2023 to 10th Oct 2023. 

The NMAT 2023 score is accepted by NMIMS (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Shirpur) and other leading management colleges across India and countries like Philippines, Nigeria and South Africa.

NMAT 2023 Exam Duration

  1. The exam will be conducted online for a duration of 120 Minutes i.e. 2 hours.
  2. Each section will be given a particular time duration. Language skills section will be of 28 minutes, Logical Reasoning section is for 40 minutes and 52 minutes assigned to Quantitative Skills Section. Total comprising of 120 minutes.
  3. Candidates will be given a choice of time slot at the time of registration on first come first serve basis
  4. Candidates must report to the allocated test center 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the NMAT 2023 exam.
  5. Candidates, who arrive at the test center on the specified scheduled test date more than 15 minutes after the scheduled exam start time, may not be permitted to take the exam.

NMAT 2023 Admit Card

  1. After the registration is complete and payment is realized, candidates can download  their Admit Card from their registered account.

NMAT 2023 Information/ Guidelines/ Instructions

Candidates must keep the following things to in mind

  • Candidates are required to produce original copies of non-expired identifications which have with recognizable photograph and signature.
  • Candidates will have to show the confirmation e-mail printout, photocopy of the primary ID and the print out of admit card.
  • Any member accompanying the candidate will not be allowed into the premises where the exam will be conducted.
  • Invigilators have the right to exclude candidates who fail to follow the rules and procedures
  • Candidates who have successfully pre-registered and have printouts for confirmation mail, admit card along with an original valid ID will be allowed to write the NMAT by GMAC. Those who fail to produce any of these will be barred from the exam.
  • Candidates must report to their allocated test center 45 minutes before the scheduled time of the test. Those who arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled exam start time may not be permitted to take the NMAT 2023

NMAT Answer Key

NMAT 2023 Answer Key will be released after the exam is over.  The answer key will have all the answers as per the order of questions asked in the exam. Candidates can get an estimate of their scores and get an idea about which college they can qualify for.

NMAT  Score Validity

The validity of the NMAT 2023 score is ONE YEAR. It is valid only for the academic session 2023-25.

NMAT  Exam Retake

  1. Exam Retake: The process of reapplying for the NMAT paper is called Exam Retake. 
  2. Registration – Retake: A candidate can appear for NMAT 2023 in 3 separate windows. Every time the candidate must register separately for the exam retake which is called Registration - Retake.
  3. Candidates can sit for the exam thrice. He/she can write the exam once and then reapply twice more.
  4. Retake exam option will be enabled in the dashboard after the exam date.
  5. A candidate can retake the exam only after (15 or more calendar days) passing the exam date (earliest being)
  6. Candidates can retake exam by going to the retake section and paying the registration fees. They need not refill details. The same login credentials can be used to make the payment.
  7. Candidates may decide to re take the test to improve their scores. In such cases, the best of three scores will be considered by NMIMS for admissions.
  8. Exam retakes are not mandatory. Candidates can skip.
  9. Candidates not appearing for the test on time, will be treated as “No Show”
  10. The candidates can choose to schedule the retake test for any available date.

NMAT Test Schedule/ Reschedule

  1. Exam Scheduling: The process of choosing the time slot for the exam is called Scheduling the exam.
  2. Candidates should submit their Registration form and fees before deadline to be able to schedule and attempt NMAT paper.
  3. Candidates should schedule their test as soon as payment is done and scheduling section is activated under the scheduling tab as the seats will be available on first come first serve basis.
  4. Candidate will have to schedule the test on their own and only one test attempt can be scheduled at a time.
  5. Candidates can select their preferred date, time slot and test center based on the availability.
  6. Candidates can select the test centers of their choice from the list given on the website.
  7. Candidates can schedule their NMAT 2023 Exam any time during the registration / scheduling window for any slot which is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time scheduling transaction is carried out.
  8. After scheduling of the test, the candidates will receive confirmation e-mail having the test center name and address, the test date and start time of the test.
  9. Re-Take Scheduling: Once a candidate registers for the exam retake he/she will have to schedule the retake exam as well which is called Re-Take Scheduling.
  10. Candidates can schedule the re-take exam date 15 or more days after the most recent attempt.
  11. Exam Reschedule: The process of choosing another date and time in case a candidate cannot appear for the exam is called Exam Reschedule. 
  12. Candidates can re-schedule their NMAT Exam no later than 72 hours prior to the scheduled date of the test to a different date, time or test center (subject to availability) by paying the applicable fee of INR 1000 + Applicable taxes.
  13. The payment to reschedule the exam can be done using credit card only.
  14. Seat availability for candidates in terms of test center, slot and date will be on a first come first serve basis.

NMAT Exam Cancellation

  1. Candidates can cancel their NMAT 2023 Exam within 7 days from the date of their test registration and receipt of full payment
  2. Candidates will have to send their request for a refund to NMAT support from registered email ID
  3. Refund for the NMAT fees will be provided within 30 days from the date of cancellation.
  4. No refund fee will be given if cancellation is requested after 7 days from the date of test registration.
  5. GMAC does not impose any fees or processing charges on refunds.

  • For LR/DI, you can try RS Aggarwal Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation.
  • DI is traditionally calculation intensive but easy.
  • Quantitative Aptitude is easy to moderate level. CAT prep would suffice.

NMAT Test Day Requirements

  1. Candidates must provide the following documents at the exam centre on the day of the exam:
    1. Printout of Confirmation E-mail & Admit Card
    2. Xerox of Primary ID 
    3. One latest photograph along with one original ID, (candidates can bring either of the following IDs as a proof - Passport/ PAN Card/Voter ID card/ UID/Aadhar Card/Driver’s License)
  2. Following are not acceptable as IDs on the day of the test:
    1. Learner’s driver’s license
    2. Photocopies (attested or otherwise)
    3. Notarized copies
  3. Candidates must carry one photocopy of the photo ID for submission at NMAT 2023 test center. Candidates who are not able to produce the above forms of valid ID will not be admitted to write the test.
  4. Candidates taking the examination at the international level are required to bring the following documents on the day of test center:
    1. Confirmation email printout
    2. Admit Card: Candidates should download their admit card from NMAT by GMAC Account.
    3. Original passport (valid and non-expired) and a photocopy of the passport

NMAT 2020 cut off for NMIMS Mumbai/ Bangalore and Hyderabad

  1. All the NMAT 2023 participating colleges release their cut-offs once the NMAT 2023 exam result is declared.
  2. There are 3 sections in the NMAT 2023 Examination, the cut-off prepared is based on the sectional cut-off of the exam. All the candidates must score sectional cut-off and overall cut-off, to get admission in NMAT participating colleges.
