OMEGA can take the credit for supporting / partnering with small and medium scale enterprises, small traders who are in and around Manipal, Udupi and Mangalore in enabling them to strive towards excellence in their business. OMEGA takes the project of these entrepreneurs at minimum cost (consulting fees) and provides them with quality results as best student minds work on these projects in guidance of TAPMI professors.

 

OMEGA has a very proficient team of 20 members with average work experience of 30 months varying in different fields. OMEGA have CFA Level 2 cleared student, Six Sigma green belt certified student, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certified student in our team. OMEGA promotes entrepreneurial spirit in students through various activities like conducting entrepreneurial game (Defi), guest lectures, entrepreneurial workshops, case study competitions etc.

 

OMEGA, the student’s wing of TAPMI, will be organizing a three day entrepreneurial event “Defi” from October 12-14, 2012. This is one of a kind event aimed at bringing out the entrepreneurial talent of students and gives them a platform to showcase it. Participating teams are provided an opportunity to start a venture for three days and make profits. It is like being entrepreneur for three days and make your venture profitable.

 

The short listing round for Defi’12 is over. 33 teams presented their ideas with passion but only 11 were able to make it to the next round. These shortlisted 11 teams will set up their ventures now and compete with each other for winning the coveted ‘Defi’12 Champions’ trophy. The 11 shortlisted teams are:

7.Team MCC – Paintball tournament

8.Team Yum Bee Yay – Various types of authentic Dosa and filter coffee stall

9.Team Dreamcatchers – Jive classes and party of the year

10.Team Manipal Mall – Unique experience of Mall in Manipal

11. Team Bubblebar – Home made chocolate shop

 

Initial capital is provided by OMEGA to help the teams start their venture. These teams will be judged on the basis of:

 

•Profits – The more the better

•Transparency – All accounting done clearly

•Idea – Innovative ideas will gain more

•Implementation – How well the idea is implemented 

•Online marketing, blogging & promotions (does not include spamming TAPMI mailbox)
