Few of B schools and even new IIMs have replaced GD with WAT hence, Written Ability Test has also become a tool to test MBA aspirant on assessing overall communication skills and personality, so it is also equally important and crucial component of MBA admission process.
Develop points for discussion and read WAT topic: "Attitude is crucial for all actions"
Many great people believe that attitude is a crucial element for success. To be successful, you need determination, hard work and luck. Positive attitude is the power that drives you to success. Positive attitude brings with it positive thinking, constructive thinking and optimism.
When you have a positive attitude and outlook towards life, you will put your best foot forward because you know there is hope and a possibility for success. On the other hand, if you are filled with pessimism, you will look at things in a negative light.
Our minds are like computers. They will behave the way we program them. So, if we program our brains to look at everything in a negative light, we will see darkness everywhere. So, when there is pessimism in the atmosphere, there is no point in working hard because you are certain that you will not reap success.
So, negative attitude leads to one’s downfall. People have negative attitudes because of past experiences and events. This leads to low self-esteem, fear, resentment and stress. It takes immense work to examine the roots of negative attitude. However, the rewards of getting rid of this heavy baggage can last a lifetime.
Since positive attitude is important for success, many people focus on attitude talk. Attitude talk is one way to override negative thoughts and attitude. The benefits of having a positive attitude are that you get inner strength and power, you encounter fewer difficulties along the way and you get more respect from people around you. When people start giving you respect, you will become more confident of your abilities.
William James, an American philosopher and psychologist once said, “Success or failure depends more upon the attitude than upon capacity. Successful mean act as though they have accomplished or are enjoying something. Soon, it becomes a reality. Act, look and feel successful and you will be amazed at the positive results”.
Make it a point to convert negative scenarios into positive scenarios because a positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts and events and it is a catalyst which sparks extraordinary results. No matter what you are going through, remember that there’s light at the end of the tunnel and this thought differentiates successful people from failures.
