Bachelor's degree (10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline

MICA Selection Process

MICA selection is a 3-step process as detailed below:

Step-I: CAT/ XAT/GMAT- Each candidate must have taken at least one of the three exams: CAT/ XAT/GMAT (CAT 2021 / XAT 2022 / GMAT (2020 onwards).

Step-II: MICA Admission Test (MICAT).

All candidates are assessed on MICAT, which consists of 3 sections

Section A: Psychometric Test

Section B: Descriptive Test

Section C: (has 4 sub-sections) - Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation and General awareness

Step-III: GE & PI: All the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT & MICAT shall appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI).

MICA Scholarships

MICA provides financial aid to the students who are meritorious in the college keeping in consideration the family income of the student. Only the students admitted to the residential programmes in the institution located at Ahmedabad are liable to the scholarship.

The scholarships are being awarded to students currently pursuing studies at MICA and benefit students of the 2-year programmes such as Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications) - PGDM(C) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management - PGDM and the 1-year Post Graduate Certificate in Crafting Creative Communication (CCC). Each scholarship amounts upto 25% of the annual fees per student in the programme.

In all upto 20 Scholarships were awarded during academic year 2020-21 which included 8 for PGP-1 and 2, and 2 for the CCC programme.

Selection Criteria for MICA Scholarships are:

  • Academic performance and class attendance record of the student
  • Background of the family
  • Family Income not exceeding Rs. 10 Lakhs P.A
  • Scrutiny of Income-Tax Returns and Bank Statements of previous 3 years
  • Other achievements like extracurricular, sports and etc

Since the time of its inception in 1991, MICA has been providing the industry with quality managers in the field of Marketing, Media and Advertising and this stands as a testament of the high standards and diversity of the student pool and versatility of the curriculum of MICA.

To equip the students with an industry-aligned approach, MICA provides students the opportunity to work on numerous live projects with the industry along with Summer Internships. These opportunities hone a MICA student’s analytical and logical skills with a platform to apply their creativity and out-of- the-box solutions.

A balanced approach is extended to the curriculum by offering Core and Foundation courses in the fields of Marketing, General Management, Digital, Media-Advertising paired up with Culture and Communication courses like Communication Theories, Imagining India and Semiotics. This helps students understand the Indian diaspora, which is key for marketing.
