In its endeavor to make its contribution towards the promotion of excellence and quality teaching in technical institutions, Indian Institute of Management Raipur organized five days “Professional Development Training” for Senior Faculty members under Technical Education Improvement program (TEQIP) III at IIM Raipur Campus during August 26-30, 2019. It is the eleventh Professional Development Training program under TEQIP III and is conducted under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India, which initiated the third phase of TEQIP for faculty members of higher educational institutes. IIM Raipur has been entrusted by the MHRD with the objectives of highlighting the importance of world class technical education, identifying the gaps and lacunae in the present system, processes and infrastructure and evolving the benchmarks for the delivery of education and resources management.
This 11th Professional Development Training from August 26-30, 2019 was attended by participants comprising of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors, from engineering colleges across the states of Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. Prof. Archana Parashar and Prof. Pankaj Singh were the program directors for this training program.
A wide variety of sessions were covered under this program. Dr. Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Raipur took sessions on Improving governance system in Academic Institute. Prof. Sanjeev Prashar took sessions on inventorying on expectations, workplace management, and building interpersonal relations. Session on Improving financial system in academic institutions was taken by Prof. M. Kannadhasan and sponsorship for R & D projects was taken by Prof. R. K. Jana. Sessions on Vision, Mission and Goals and Teaching & Learning Strategies were engaged by Prof. Parikshit Charan. Session on Building teams was offered by Prof. Pankaj Singh and Prof. Archana Parashar conducted a session on Student- Teacher Interaction. Prof. Sumeet Gupta shared the learning on knowledge system & industry interaction (R&D), Prof. Mohit Goswami discussed on Relationship Management and National and International Industry-university partnership. Procurement management, Project management and Implementation of GIAN was dealt by Prof. PRS Sarma. Prof. Satyasiba Das discussed about the accreditation process and practices and Prof. Sourya Joyee De discussed about the use of ICT. Last day, the program concluded with valedictory session distribution of certificates. Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, (Chairman MDP & Executive Education) Prof. Archana Parashar and Prof. Pankaj Singh (Programme Directors) delivered the vote of thanks to the participants.
