Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Hon’ble Minister of Education addressed the students of IIM Rohtak at their Annual Convocation Ceremony on 19th April 2021
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak hosted its Convocation Ceremony on 19th April 2021. The event was graced by Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ as the chief guest. A total of 480 students from MBA programme and 12 students from doctoral program attended the convocation ceremony.
Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ congratulated the graduating students and their families for their success. He encouraged the students to work hard and make contribution to their families, nation, and society at large. Hon’ble Minister of Education encouraged the graduated students to use their talent in the best possible manner and contribute meaningfully in realizing [email protected] mission and wished them all the best for their future endeavors.
Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt. of India congratulated for doing exceptionally well in improving gender and academic diversity in its students population. In 2020, the institute scaled up with nearly 70% of students being female, which is a remarkable achievement. The minister said that IIM Rohtak’s work is a vital step in realizing Prime Minister’s vision of “Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao” mission. Further, Honorable Minister commended the efforts of IIM Rohtak in expanding its programs, research, and policy work. He further added, "I congratulate the IIM Rohtak for opening up a new campus in Gurugram, new programs, and empowering women in management education in last few years."
Also, Hon’able Minister of Education stated that currently government in the last few years has increased the number of IIMs, IITs, and Central Universities to provide greater opportunities for the youth to get high quality education. He mentioned that Indian educational institutions are improving in world rankings and IIM Rohtak has also improved in educational rankings.
Finally, IIM Rohtak being an institute of national importance must realize its responsibility and strive to contribute to national development. IIM Rohtak is currently amongst the largest management institute in the country and will have nearly 1500 students enrolled in long duration programs. Institute administration informed about the grand future plans regarding institute expansion in terms of new programs and new campus. The institute has already completed the final placement process for the graduating batches with 100% success. This has been achieved consecutively for the fourth year now. The institute has seen participation of more than 100 companies for recruitment even during COVID times.
Hon’able Minister recognized that IIM Rohtak has taken a historic step in opening a new campus in Gurugram. Also, Five Year Integrated Programme in Law (BBA-LLB), will be offered by the institute this year. IIM Rohtak is the first and only IIM to have started this programme. IIM Rohtak is now amongst the top management institute in the country, is the only IIM in the Delhi-NCR region. IIM Rohtak is a benchmark of management education in India. The institute aims to build tomorrow’s leaders by organizing various events like these to polish the students’ skills and keep them updated about the current trends in the industry, hence bridging the gap between industry and academia.
