Published : Wednesday, 2 December, 2015 3:05 PM

The Indian School of Business (ISB), with campuses in Mohali and Hyderabad, is hosting the ISB National Conclave 2015, on ‘Driving India’s Growth Momentum: Capacity Building in Public Policy, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Infrastructure’. This annual event, now in its second year, will explore potential solutions to endemic problems facing India in these four crucial sectors. The Conclave will be held on December 3, 2015 in New Delhi.

Leading members of the government, policy makers, industry leaders and academia are expected to converge at the ISB National Conclave to evaluate the various developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government to drive India’s Growth Momentum. They will identify challenges and offer solutions to strengthen capacity building measures in public policy, healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure.

The Government’s initiatives such as Make in India, Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, Smart Cities Mission, Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana to accelerate the PM’s new mantra, ‘reform to transform’ will form a part of the discussions at the ISB National Conclave.

Participating in the Conclave are several distinguished speakers from the government, industry and academia such as Naushad Forbes, Director – Forbes Marshall and President designate CII, Keshav Desiraju, Former Health Secretary, K Venkatesh, Chief Executive and Managing Director of L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited, Anup K. Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, Sudhanshu Mittal, Bharatiya Janata Party, Raghav Chandra, Chairman, NHAI among others.

Expressing his views on the need for such a platform, Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB said, “The Indian economy is on a robust growth path, thanks to the ambitious initiatives announced by the Government. However, if the economy is to take wings, the country will have to address fundamental issues in public policy, healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure. While there are strong plans for all these sectors, the administration will have to address robust enabling policies. ISB is committed to support and influence policy making in the country through the thought leadership its faculty, institutes and centres bring to the table. ”

The ISB National Conclave is the flagship event of the four institutes at the ISB – Bharti Institute for Public Policy, Max Institute of Healthcare Management, Munjal Institute of Global Manufacturing and the Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management.  The Conclave is supported and endorsed by the four Founder Supporters of the ISB’s Mohali campus - Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Analjit Singh, Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of Max India, Sunil Kant Munjal, Jt Managing Director, Hero MotoCorp Ltd and Atul Punj , Chairman of Punj Lloyd Group.

Elaborating on the contributions of the Institutes at ISB, Pradeep Singh, CEO Mohali campus and Deputy Dean, ISB said, “The four institutes at Mohali have been positioned to be the preferred knowledge partners for the government, industry and the NGOs - the objective being to support them through cutting-edge research and management education to enhance their capacity building initiatives. In keeping with this, all the four institutes have launched their flagship programmes which have gained acceptance from the government and industry.”

The Conclave is an exclusive, invitation-only , day - long event  that will showcase the unique domain expertise, the policy research and partnership capabilities of the four Institutes, which are located at the Mohali campus of the ISB.
