IBS or ICFAI Business School holds an immaculate record when it comes to the placements of its students. It constantly upgrades its pedagogy and curriculum to keep its MBA program industry relevant. Throughout the program, students stay involved with different types of industry interfaces and gain hands-on experiences, giving them a better understanding of the management concepts. Some of the leading corporates that regularly hire students for summer internships from IBS include Axis Bank, Citigroup Global Markets, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, HDFC Bank, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, ICICI Bank, JPMorgan, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co, Development Bank of Singapore, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and more.
The institute has its own Career Management Centre (CMC) which is responsible for looking after the placement activities at the institute throughout the year. It functions under the guidance and supervision of a coordinator. This coordinator has a team of executives and managers in turn who rack their brains to ensure best placements for the passing out students.
The primary objective of CMC is to improve the placement chances of the students. The Career Management Centre’s personnel meet up with potential employers in reputed companies and update them about the talent pool available in the institute. This has resulted in a strong relationship between the school and over 4000 different corporate establishments over the years. Last year, in 2018, 500+ companies recruited from IBS and there has been a constant increase in the number of companies that visit IBS for recruitment purposes each year.
CMC also organizes multiple activities like workshops, preplacement talks, guest lectures and more, providing platforms to the students and industry representatives to interact with each other. Other than academics, students are provided hands-on training in soft skills and are offered career counselling as well. They are exposed to mock interviews and group discussion practices before the final placement process.
Actually, the complete placement exercise at IBS is an effective collaboration between its students and the institute. IBS does an exceptional job in training its students to be all-round professionals, and the kind of placement record it holds is a testimony to that fact.
