With uncertainty looming around how the classes will be conducted, internships completed, and placements secured, one b-school steered seamlessly through this crisis. Rapid Action

IFMR GSB Krea University took immediate action and moved to an online learning mode. Term six courses for the final year students were completely online and resumed after while students, who had left the campus in mid-March, had reached their homes and settled in.

Ensuring seamless continuity of the classes, the learning process was streamlined and adapted quickly to the new norm during the global calamity. More than twenty courses were delivered online, amounting to 300 online classroom hours. Krea University also announced a partnership with Coursera to help students learn additional courses at their own pace.

Robust ICT in Place

A robust Information and Communication Technology infrastructure at IFMR GSB came in handy and complemented the learning ecosystem created during the crisis. The faculty and students were technologically well-versed with online learning modes like online discussion forums, assessments and evaluation. These pedagogical tools were already being used during regular classroom sessions. The IT team and the faculty successfully implemented the live streaming of online classes within a short time. The significant tech upgrade enabled seamless peer and faculty interaction.

Right Kind of Networking

The online classes enabled a new form of learning and new ways to interact with peers. The e-classrooms were thoroughly interactive and elicited active participation from students and faculty.

The idea of 'learning sans borders' harnessed the strong professional and academic network of Krea University. Under its aegis, IFMR GSB conducted more than 50 industry talks, four international dialogues, and over 60 social impact projects.

Due to the existing strong industry connections, students of IFMR GSB could complete internships and bag pre-placement offers. Global partnerships were signed by Krea University with world-renowned institutions like Berkeley Global, Nottingham Trent University, and D’Amore McKim School of Business at Northeastern. IFMR GSB students have availed of a 100% scholarship to pursue an online course in FinTech at NYU Stern School of Business.

Research & Impact

IFMR GSB Krea University was actively involved in research projects, partnering with Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy (IWWAGE), Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion (CDFI), Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) India, and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) to drive significant change and create an impact on society.

The MBA class of 2022 was welcomed in a first-of-its-kind online orientation, Prarambh 2020, where many senior industry and academic leaders spoke. With a growing and better understanding of the pandemic dynamics and a more sustainable learning model, the new session started with much enthusiasm.
