The Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), Delhi, established by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Educational Society in 1995, has become one of the top business schools in the country. The Institute aims to develop professionals with a humane and pragmatic approach with a focus on value based management education. The students taking admission in LBSIM receive quality education by experienced and highly qualified faculty, in state-of-the-art infrastructure, to enable them to become successful business executives and entrepreneurs in their careers.
The state-of-the-art infrastructure, equipped with modern amenities such as air-conditioned, WiFi-enabled buildings, digital classrooms, well-stocked library, auditorium and excellent arrangements for boarding and lodging provide just the right environment for students to grow and develop.
The air-conditioned classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with all the modern teaching facilities such as Multimedia Projectors, Laptop Notebook Computers, Internet and Intranet Connectivity, Sound System for an enriching classroom experience.
The hub of all academic pursuits in the Institute is the library, with a collection of over 32,500 select documents in the form of books, reports and other non-book materials, subscription to 150 select periodicals and online access to over 10,000 periodicals. The library also provides students access to various electronic databases such as Business Source Complete (EBSCO Publishing), PROWESS (CMIE), Economic Outlook (CMIE) and so on. Students can use the vast resources of the two-storeyed library to enrich their learning and pursue their academic research.
The Institute has two Computer labs with a capacity of more than hundred students and are equipped with the latest hardware and software facilities.
The state-of-the-art Video Conferencing Centre can hold 70 people at one time and is equipped with the latest technology.
The Institute also has an auditorium with a capacity of 300 people, to hold seminars, interactions, as well as, students’ activities.
LBSIM has set up a Finance lab with the support of Bloomberg India. With 12 Bloomberg terminals, students have access to live data feed from international financial markets and get hands-on experience which helps them to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
LBSIM has collaborated with IBM to set up an Analytic Lab to develop skills in the areas of Descriptive Analytics, Predictive Analytics and Big Data Analytics.
The Institute provides air-conditioned accommodation on a twin-sharing basis for about 70 girls and 150 boys in their respective boarding facilities.
The pedagogy at LBSIM is a nice blend of lectures, seminars, case discussions, group presentations, management games, syndicate discussions and interactive sessions with industry experts. Modern technological aids such as LCD projectors, films, audio and video tapes are also used to provide a rich platform to students to excel.
This special programme offers a chance to students of the Institute to gain from the expertise of LBSIM faculty through one-to-one interaction. The faculty mentors have a rich experience of their respective industry sectors and possess brilliant functional, inter-personal, managerial and leadership skills, all of which become available to the students through this programme.
Students at LBSIM learn to work in groups, as most assignments are group assignments. In addition to this, the students are divided into groups, with first and second year students in each group. Each group is attached to a faculty member, who encourages the students to scan magazines, read management literature and exchange the learning experience with the other group members.
LBSIM has a thriving campus environment, with students leading the way in organising various events throughout the year. The Institute believes in the holistic development of its students and encourages them to extract the maximum out of the given opportunities.
