Nostalgia and bonhomie was evident atthe 2ndAlumni Meet of Indian Institute of Management Raipur. Former students of PGP from the first three batches, working in the country and abroad, were present to share their experiences with the batch.A number of events were organized on this occasion and they were invited by an emotional homecoming ceremony.
The alumni meet started with a formal introduction and warm-up session by the ex-students from the batch of 2010-2012 to 2012-2014 where the former students counseled the incumbent batches of the Post Graduate Program. Various clubs and committees of IIM Raipur interacted with the former students and presented their respective achievements and their contribution to the institute. The alumni also came up with various suggestions for the better functioning of the student’s clubs and committees.
Prof. B S Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur, was overwhelmed to see his students flourishing and bringing pride to the institute. Addressing thestudents, he said that IIM Raipur will be institutionalizing more of such initiatives, in order to bring the institute and the alumni together.
Dr.Sanjeev Prashar, Chairperson, Alumni Committee, welcoming the former students, mentioned that he was glad to see the seeds of IIM Raipur being planted in multifarious positions in the corporate world. He said that going forward IIM Raipur would be having an integrated and strong alumni network.
It was a stroll down the memory lane for the ex-students as they interacted with the incumbent batches and faculties. The well-settled managers and leaders apparently tried to relive their college days once again with their batch-mates during the event and proudly remembered the days when they were in the institute. They then discussed onhow to go about “Strengthening the bond between the Instituteand the Alumni”. They stressed upon the point that Networking is the most crucial part for corporate leaders and this provides a great platform where they not only have a rendezvous with theirjunior batches but also engage in an exchange of thought and ideas from the past and present batches.
The day ended in a casual interaction between the students where the alumni shared lighter moments with their junior batches.
