Industry-Oriented Curriculum

The curriculum and pedagogy followed at IMI Kolkata are designed in such a way that it exposes the students to the core academic concepts along with nuances of core industrial concepts. The curriculum is designed such that it sharpens the students analytical and theoretical skills. The students understand cross-functional roles of the industry and are prepared to take challenges as part of managerial and leadership roles. The program structure focuses on functional concepts in the first year and choice-based electives in the second year. Students are also encouraged to pursue Course of Independent Study (CIS) as an elective.

The students must undergo a mandatory summer internship program at the end of the first year where they can utilize the core concepts learned in the first year. Throughout the course, they get to interact with guest lecturers and speakers who come with an extensive industry experience.
