The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade entrance exam (IIFT MBA(IB) 2020-22) is one of the prestigious exams conducted in India. The IIFT 2019 exam score helps you get shortlisted for the MBA (International Business) program at IIFT Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada campuses. The IIFT 2019 exam is on Sunday, 1st December 2019, from 10 am to 12 noon.
Until 2018, the exam was conducted by IIFT. The IIFT 2019 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI). NTA is an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization under Society Registration Act 1860.
It conducts competent, transparent, and international standard tests that help assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions like IIFT. Click here to read the public notice issued by NTA.
Another significant change is that the IIFT 2019 exam will be conducted online, unlike the previous years where it was a pen-paper based exam. Here are ELEVEN reasons why IIFT 2019 must be in your exam list:
IIFT was set up in 1963 as a Centre of Excellence in International Trade and Business and was coined as a business school by the 1990s.
It has established itself as one of the top business schools in India with a particular focus on International Trade and Finance.
The faculty members are experts in the field of Economics, Finance, Trade, IT, Marketing, Operations, Strategy/OB-HR and CRIT.
Both Delhi and Kolkata campuses are strategically located surrounded by lush green exteriors and world-class amenities in the interiors.
IIFT is a pioneer in foreign trade and international business education in India.
IIFT gives an MBA degree and not a diploma like the IIMs.
IIFT is a member of international organizations such as
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
Academy of International Business (AIB)
European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), Brussels
International Association of Trade Training Organisations (IATTO), UK
IIFT enables its students to simultaneously study the global and local aspects of international Business and international trade.
The placement opportunities make its students globally valuable.
The IIFT admission process is straight forward, non-complicated process purely based on merit.
After the IIFT 2019 written exam, there will be three non-elimination rounds – Writing Skills Assessment , GD, & PI.
Around 60 to 65 thousand students appear for the IIFT exam every year.
Approximately 2000 students are shortlisted for Writing Skills Assessment, GD & PI rounds. During 2019 admissions, 2097 students were shortlisted.
There are only 420 seats (Delhi + Kolkata), and this makes the competition extremely fierce.
The exam difficulty level is high and the sectional cut offs for the Academic Session 2019-21 were:
Section | QA | DI | VA | RC | LR | GK |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Total Questions | 20 | 20 | 20 | 16 | 20 | 18 |
Total Marks | 20 | 20 | 15 | 16 | 20 | 9 |
Cutoff | 2.34 | 1.01 | 2.75 | 3.34 | 2.36 | 1.14 |
NTA will conduct the online IIFT 2019 exam for the first time. Until now, it was organized by IIFT.
Change in the exam conducting body and exam mode could make the difficulty level of exam slightly easier.
The IIFT 2019 exam result will be out by 11th December 2019 i.e., within ten days of writing the exam. Based on the outcome, students can focus, plan, and prepare for the IIFT selection process and/or other exams (as required).
There are 224 exam cities across 35 states and UTs in India to choose from.
Unlike other exams, students can choose up to four cities (others provide only three) of their choice.
There is no age limit for appearing for the IIFT 2019 examination.
This adds to the diversity in any incoming batch.
The 2017-19 MBA(IB) batch had 72 percent of students with work experience.
Since NTA is the conducting body this year, students can see the Question Paper attempted by them and tally with the Answer Keys.
NTA also invites challenges on any discrepancies, which makes the entire process very transparent.
NTA also gives the option of familiarizing the students with the “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode of examinations.
There are Test Practice Centres spread all over India to help the students.
IIFT is the first premier B-School in India to complete 100% placements of MBA(IB) 2017-19 batch, with impressive highest compensation of US$ 150,000 for four students, while the average package was Rs 20.07 lakhs. The average international package was Rs 62,74,545/- and highest Domestic package was Rs 29 lakh.
