MICA has taken several unique initiatives in the past, amongst them, being the only Institute in India to offer a specialization in Marketing Research.
According to Dr. Nagesh Rao, President & Director, MICA:
“We have witnessed the deep impact of new media in our lives as consumers and as societies. As India’s premier institution focused on communications, we were possibly the first to spot this game-changing trend and introduced courses in Digital Marketing. This year we expanded them to include courses on E-Commerce, Social Media & Strategic Communications & Mobile as New Media.
These were received with a great response from the industry and students. Again, MICA is the first Institute in India to see the mobile as a Media in itself, catching early trends and interpreting them for the benefit of industry and society. We have, and will, always stay focused and ahead of others in our mission of developing innovative professionals in the practice, development and management of communications ,to serve the needs of industry and society through education, research and advocacy”
Prof Anita Basalingappa, Chairperson, Admissions Committee adds:
“MICA’s Curriculum Committee went through a zero base review process and proposed the new specialization in the curriculum beginning from the academic year 2013-14.
The batch that joins MICA in 2013 will certainly benefit in being a frontrunner in the additional specialization. MICA has always been seen as the path-breaker and the premier Institute in Communications Management. We keep our commitment.”
