In 2010, Government of India set up IIM Raipur in Chhattisgarh, one of the fastest growing states of India with its rich mineral, forest, natural & local resources. From very beginning IIM Raipur has set high standards for outstanding value based quality education, high quality research, executive education, consultancy and strong corporate as well as international linkages. IIM Raipur encourages contemporary research concentrating on regional, national & global issues.

Now IIM Raipur is all set to start doctoral programme which is called as “Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)” from 2012. FPM is a full time doctoral programme that offers research scholars opportunities for advanced studies and research in different areas of management. The Programme aims to prepare research scholars for careers in teaching and research in management studies and in related disciplines , and for  careers in the academic institutions and in other organizations that require advanced analytical and research capabilities. The Programme offers research scholars a unique opportunity to engage in high quality intra disciplinary as well as inter disciplinary research. 
 
Prof. B.S. Sahay , Director IIM Raipur said that with the rapid expansion of management education in India it has become inevitable that top business schools cater to the need of the faculty by producing excellent researchers & academicians. The nation has large expectation from IIMs. It is therefore, important to provide high quality research for creation, dissemination and application of knowledge.
 
In order to take it further, IIM Raipur has decided to start FPM with following objectives:
 
1.To provide research scholars with necessary skills to identify & research complex issues in the field of management.
2.To contribute for the creation, transmission and application of knowledge in the field of management.
3.To do research and publications of international standard in inter-disciplinary areas of management that will add value to the society and the body of the knowledge.
4.To meet the teaching & research manpower needs of academia and industry by producing highly skilled individuals with exceptional analytical ability & training in conducting specialized research.
 
Admission Criteria
 
IIM Raipur’s doctoral programme aims to admit individuals with exceptional academic background, strong motivation & discipline and potential to become excellent researchers at international level. It is expected that research scholars will come from a variety of disciplines ranging from social sciences and humanities to physical sciences and engineering. Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievements , motivation and preparation for the programme , letters of recommendation, scores on standard tests and a personal interview with the faculty.
 
Qualifications
 
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications to apply for IIM Raipur’s doctoral programme. 
Master’s degree in any disciplines with at least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade point average 
Or
Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks or equivalent grade point average
Or
Five year/four year Integrated Masters degree programme in any discipline with at least 55 percent marks obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
Or
 
 
4 years / 8 semesters bachelor’s degree (BE/Btech) with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average.
 
Those in their final years of masters or bachelors degree (BE/BTech) in any discipline can also apply. Such candidates have to complete the requirements for the course before the specified date and produce the original mark sheets/certificates within stipulated time.
 
CAT/GATE/JRF/GMAT/GRE Score
 
Candidates who have appeared / are appearing for the CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/JRF (two years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form) will be shortlisted on the basis of the details in the application and the scores of the tests as detailed below. Only the shortlisted candidates will then be called for interviews during 20th – 30th April 2012 at IIM Raipur Campus.

Application fee:
 
Application from can be downloaded from IIM Raipur website. Completed application form together with all relevant documents & a demand draft of Rs. 300 in favour of Indian Institute of Management Raipur should reach to the Administrative Officer (Admissions) , Indian Institute of Management Raipur , GEC Campus, Sejbahar , Raipur 492015 on or before January 31,2012.
 
There is no application fee for SC/ST/NC-OBC/PWD candidates who submit an attested copy of SC/ST/NC-OBC/PWD certificate.
 
Financial Assistance (Scholarships)
IIM Raipur full time research scholars are provided fellowships. The fellowship covers all academic expenses (consisting of tuition, computer , library , placement & alumni fees) and living expenses (comprising boarding & lodging ). In addition a research scholar in the first & second year will be entitled to a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000 per month after the second year or after clearing the comprehensive exam , whichever is later he/she will be eligible for Rs. 24,000 per month. Additional allowances will also be available to the candidate as follow:
 
Contingency allowance: Rs 25,000 per year
Purchase of PC/laptop: Rs 50,000 one time allowance
Attend international and national conferences: Up to Rs. 150,000 during FPM program
