Testing a person over an extempore speech is one the best ways of testing his knowledge and speaking skills. This is precisely the reason why most interviews now comprise of a section where the interviewee is made to give an extempore speech. If in an interview, a person is asked to speak on the topic, “Both inferiority and Superiority Complex are bad”, what would they say?
What is inferiority complex? A person suffering from an inferiority complex finds himself to be much less and low when weighed on different qualities as compared to any other man. This inferiority complex often leads to a low confidence level and no respect for self. When this happens, a person loses his heart and often even end up not trying to do things or running away from them. This is wrong. A person with an inferiority complex will give up on things even before starting them and this is where the true problem lies. There is nothing to worry about when a person lost at something after giving your best shot but when they never even could give it a shot, there is everything to worry about.
Inferiority complex is only a problem of the mind and it is only from the mind that it should be erased. There are essentially two types of inferiority complexes- primary and secondary. A primary inferiority complex is a kind of inferiority complex that evolves due to failures or certain peculiar incidences that a person went through in his childhood. The second kind of inferiority complex is the secondary inferiority complex that emerges when an adult is unable to achieve success in some task or fails miserably at something that he always wanted. In such a case, he is disheartened by his failure and the repercussions of not being able to win lasts forever.

Inferiority Complex is something that can be dealt with. All a person needs is a little encouragement and some boost up energy. Once he turns his failure into success, his spirits to give his best and taste victory is revived and then he does all better. Inferiority complex is bad because it does not allow a person to do anything and superiority complex is bad because it stops a person from doing their best. How is that so?
What is Superiority Complex? Superiority complex is a state opposite of the inferiority complex; a state in which a person begins to feel that he is better than everyone else around him. He begins to overestimate his potential and thus, becomes laid back and does not give his full effort at achieving any thing. People with a superiority complex stay stuck in a void. This is because they are so full of themselves that do not allow anyone to suggest them something and also because they do not pay any heed to any kind of advice that is given to them.

Also, some people believe that at times, people with an inferiority complex use creating a superior image of themselves to hide their true feelings, that of inferiority. However, the chances of this are quite rare and if a man feels superior, it is primarily due to other reason and not a façade that they put on. Sometimes, superiority complex can take an extreme form and turn into Narcissism when a person begins to feel that he is the best and there is nothing better beyond him.
Both the inferiority complex as well as the superiority complex is bad for a person as both prove to be a hurdle in the development of a person. An inferior person cringes in his crib and does not ever get out, out of the fear of rejection. Contrarily, a person with a superiority complex does not get out because he thinks that everyone else is inferior to him and since he is the best, he does not need to do anything to make himself a better person or prove anything to anyone. However, the good part is that both the inferiority as well as the superiority complex is a problem of the mind and thus, they can also be deal with easily.

Henry C. Link once said, “While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, another one is busy making mistakes because he feels superior.” With a little effort, one can stop a person from both- hesitating from doing things and making mistakes.
