Can women be better managers?
As very rightly said by Tom Northup, “No great manager or leader ever fell from heaven, it’s learned not inherited”. Starting with this excellent thought, it can be believed that the art of management in practical is a constant learning process. It’s all about believing and building an empire.
Firstly, it would be a great injustice to compare men and women as managers. Men and women are brought up in different ways, they are biologically different and also they socialize differently. So, there is no comparison between these two in reality.
When one looks at women as managers and the current business scenario together, one can say that women are in the league of managing the situation well. The current business scenario requires a lot of relationship building and conceptualization to be on the table.
Women are relatively more flexible and, have a comfortable attitude towards learning. They are more focussed towards building and prospering the organization. When a woman hires talent, they give the talent the needed space. This empowerment reflects well on a woman’s leadership skills.
Multi-tasking is a woman’s forte. Ask a woman to do several things at a time and, that too with finesse; you would observe that not a single point is missed out. Being a perfectionist by nature, one can see that the amount of work piled up during the day gets done by night perfectly.
Women think with their right brain. Maybe it is time to utilize this talent of women given the fact that the market needs more of right brain. When it comes to communication and interpersonal skills, women are born with them. Studies have also shown that women tend to cope with frustration in a much better way.
Of course, there are areas where the women are not really skilled for example finances. Most women find it difficult to handle or manage finances. But, when the time comes to learn this art, they won’t defy themselves of the knowledge.
The powerful managerial skills exhibited by women and, the aptitude towards learning something new completely define them as better managers.
