Indian Institute of Management Raipur bagged the Mureka, a case study contest organised by Mu Sigma. Mureka is considered as one of India’s biggest b-school analytics competition event.
The competition was targeted at students currently pursuing PGDM or Executive programs at IIMs across India. The first prize was jointly won by Pousali Chakrabarti, student of Post Graduate Program, first year at IIM Raipur.
The contest was designed mainly for following reasons:
•Create awareness about the Decision Sciences industry.
•Encourage and inspire students to gain exposure to real world business problems.
•Provide students an opportunity to innovate by integrating Math, Business and Technology.
The competition needed individual participation. The prize money awarded was Rs 6 lakh for the first position, Rs 3 lakh for the second and Rs 1 lakh for the third spot. Also Mu Sigma has given an opportunity of pre placement interview to top twenty entries.
The competition had registration of 950 students across all 13 Indian Institute of Managements. Entries were from students of PGP first year, PGP second year and one year executive MBA. A panel of experts shortlisted top five presentations from the total entries received and the competition took place at IIM L. The shortlisted candidates presented their case study at the final presentation round. The winners were declared on the basis of their accuracy of the analysis; thought process, innovative thinking, presentation skills and Q&A handling.
On this occasion, Ambiga Dhiraj, Head of Delivery, Mu Sigma said, “mureka was organised by Mu Sigma with an objective to create awareness about the Decision Sciences industry, to encourage and inspire students to gain exposure to real world business problems and provide students an opportunity to innovate by integrating Math, Business and Technology.”
