The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has carved a niche for itself within its short span of operation. Established in 1996 by the Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Kerala, it aims to provide education, training, consulting and research facilities in management.
IIM-K is located at Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode, (also known as Calicut) in the State of Kerala, the God's own Land, which is famous for a large number of small green hills, a unique feature that cannot be described but has to be experienced.

IIM-K library is not just a store for management books but it’s a hub of information material that’s why it is named as Library & Information Centre (LIC).
The LIC has acquired over 15375 books and subscribes to around 360 print and over 900 electronic journals, along with a massive set of over 4000 aggregated full-text contents of e-journals, both Indian and foreign. The Audio-Visual Unit in the LIC hosts about 226 educational videos, covering the entire range of disciplines in management.
IIM Kozhikode hosts a fully automated Library & Information Centre (LIC) is one of the Centers of Development of Digital Libraries in the world. Institute also coordinated the South Asia Support Network for Greenstone Digital Library Software at the request of UNESCO and suggested the idea of IIM Library Consortium Movement. The library provides services as an institutional archive.
IIM-K offers the richest programmes on Executive Postgraduate Programmes platform. It conducts maximum number of Faculty Development Programmes and also the research-based Conferences in the country. The Institute commences its doctoral programme in the year 2007.
IIM-K’s Post-graduate Programme in Management is a flagship educational programme which prepares the young graduates for senior level positions in industry and other sections. The programme is of two years duration.
Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIMs. Fellows of IIMs are sought after for teaching positions in management institutions, for top research positions in corporate, and for consultancy and advisory roles. Through its rigorous academic inputs, the Fellowship Programme imparts unique skills and research aptitude required for management teachers and consultants that are not offered by other doctoral programmes.
With the aim of helping practicing executives, who are not in a position to join any long duration residential education programmes, in 2001 year, IIM-K started a new model of management education for working executives (EMEP).
EMEP programme is an Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) programme and institute provides management education through a synchronous interactive learning mode in the Asia Pacific region. Currently IIM-K offers a year long general management program (EMEP) and 4 function-specific 6 month programs in marketing, finance, operations and strategy for working executives through the satellite-based technology.
