A self made entrepreneur, Mr. Analjit Singh is the founder and Chairman of Max India Group. He heads the Max New York Life Insurance Company Limited, Max Bupa Health Insurance Limited, and Max Healthcare. He has been the driving force behind the Company's sustained growth and success since 1985. He serves as a Partner of Vodafone Essar Limited. His estimated net worth is USD 650 million.
Singh is an alumnus of The Doon School, Dehradun; Shriram College of Commerce, University of Delhi; School of Management and the Graduate School of Management, Boston University, USA. He holds BS and BA degree. For more than two decades, Singh stood witness and was a part of the messy disintegration of what was once the Indian pharmaceutical industry’s first family.
It started in 1990 when differences cropped up when Ranbaxy patriarch Bhai Mohan Singh divided assets among his three sons- Parvinder, Manjit and Analjit. In that family settlement, Ranbaxy went to the eldest sibling, Parvinder, much of the real estate went to Bhai Manjit Singh, and Analjit was left with just a smaller Max India and an overstaffed factory at Okhla.
Since then he turned it into a USD 1 billion (sales) Max Group with interests in healthcare, insurance, clinical research and packaging. The New York Life is his partner in life insurance.
He made his big move with an early investment in cellular services provider Hutchison Max. He sold that stake to Hutchison, pocketing USD 150 million. The 55-year-old entrepreneur is connected to 8 Board Members in 8 different organizations across 10 different industries.
As one of India’s leading business-persons, he is a Member of the Prime Minister’s Joint Indo-US CEOs Forum. He is a Director on the board of several companies such as Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI Ltd.), Vodafone Essar, Hero Honda Motors Limited, Moser Baer Solar Plc., Tata Tea Ltd., Dabur India Ltd.
Apart from other directorships and affiliations, Singh is a member of the Harvard Medical School, Microbiology Advisory Council; Executive Board Member, Indian School of Business; Member, Board of Governors, Welham Girls' School, Dehradun.

Senator Hillary Clinton, on behalf of The Indian American Center for Political Awareness (IACPA), awarded him for his 'outstanding achievement' in presenting the international community with an understanding of a modern and vibrant India.
