Organizing and planning is necessary when preparing for the NMAT exam. You have three months to study, so you need a study plan that covers every possible topic. We'll dissect a month-by-month study schedule, provide must-read books and other materials, and offer advice and techniques to help you ace the NMAT in this blog.

What is the NMAT Exam Pattern?

The NMAT is a computer-adaptive test used for admission to various management programs. Each section is timed independently, and candidates can choose the order in which they attempt the three sections. The exam lasts 120 minutes and consists of 108 questions. NMAT has no negative marking for incorrect answers, so candidates can attempt questions without losing marks for wrong responses. However, effective time management remains important because each section has a fixed time limit
It consists of three major sections:

First Month: Build Your Basics

Week One: Know the Exam Format

Begin by understanding the NMAT exam structure, syllabus, section-wise time limits, and question types. Familiarize yourself with the computer-adaptive format, section order flexibility, and marking scheme before starting your preparation.

Week 2: Concept Review

Review the fundamental concepts in each section. Strengthen your basics in quantitative aptitude, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and logical reasoning. Take a diagnostic test to assess your current level and identify areas that require improvement.

Week 3: Study Routine

Develop efficient time management skills for each section, keeping in mind that every section has its own fixed time limit and unused time cannot be transferred between sections.

Week 4: Practice Questions

Start studying crucial topics in depth. Use practice questions to apply what you've studied and assess your understanding. Focus on targeted practice to create a solid foundation in each segment.

Second Month: Intensive Study and Practice

Week 1: Study Core Subjects

Dive further into the core topics. Work on reading comprehension and advanced grammar to improve your language skills. To improve your quantitative skills, practise questions across different difficulty levels and focus on efficient problem-solving approaches. Practice more difficult puzzles and scenarios to improve your logical reasoning skills.

Week 2: Advanced Problem Solving

Concentrate on advanced problem-solving approaches and strategies. Practice with a wide range of question kinds and difficulty levels. Improve your ability to solve complicated problems efficiently and accurately.

Week 3: Practice Tests

Complete full-length NMAT mock tests under exam-like conditions. Practise different section orders and analyse your performance after every mock to identify recurring mistakes, time-management issues, and weak areas. This will help you adjust to the format, time, and pressure of the actual exam. Analyze your performance to find any chronic flaws.

Week 4: Weak Area Revisions

Review and reinforce any weak areas discovered throughout your practice assessments. Focus on developing your problem-solving abilities in these areas, as well as practicing additional questions to gain confidence.

Third Month: Revision & Tests

Week One: Revision of All Topics

Review all of the subjects covered so far. Concentrate on solidifying your information and achieving a thorough mastery of each component. Use summary notes and short revision materials to reinforce important concepts.

Week 2: Regular Mock Tests

Take full-length mock tests regularly to simulate exam conditions and assess your readiness. Experiment with different section orders and identify the sequence that works best for you. Review your performance in each fake test to identify any remaining areas for improvement.

Week 3: Final Practice

Make final changes to your study strategy based on the outcomes of your mock tests. Concentrate on improving your test-taking tactics and practice any remaining weak points. Make sure you're comfortable with the exam format and scheduling.

Week 4: Preparation for Exams

Prepare for exam day in advance. Get plenty of rest and go over your last checklist. Also, practice relaxation techniques. Make sure you know where the exam will take place. Finally, check if you have all of the right documentation.
