It was initially known as GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT) and was in affiliation with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). - According to CSR-GHRDC B-School Survey 2018, GSIB ranks 1st in Andhra Pradesh and 2nd in International Business

- Students can choose to study one-two trimesters or carry with their summer internship projects at Burgundy School of Business, Dijon, France or International University of Paris
- As part of the student exchange program, international students visit the GSIB campus to study and live with local students
- The students also get a chance to learn a Foreign Language (French/German/Spanish/Mandarin) during the first three trimesters
- GSIB students get an opportunity to learn from faculty visiting from countries like the Netherlands, China, and Nepal.

- GSIB provides a Campus to Corporate Training Programme
- The students get a week-long Industry Interface. They travel to important industrial cities/ports in India under the guidance of faculty member(s)
- The students at GSIB also get to work for two months in an organization after completing first-year.
5. How is the student life in GITAM School of International Business?
Students get different opportunities to interact with peers, faculty members, international students and students across India.
- Students from reputed colleges across India visit the campus at the time of GSIBfest – annual management festival
- The placement committee organizes the annual Industry-Interface event
