GITAM School of International Business (GSIB), Vishakhapatnam was established in 1997. It was initially known as GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT) and was in affiliation with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). In 2007, it became a constituent member of the GITAM deemed to be University. We answer TEN questions that will give you an insight into GSIB, its offerings, and the admission process.

 

1.     What are the programs offered at GITAM School of International Business?

Currently, GSIB offers three full-time MBA programs:

  • Two-year MBA (International Business)
  • Two-year MBA (International Banking & Finance)
  • Two-year MBA (Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management)

 

2.    What are some of the affiliations and rankings of GITAM International School of Business?

  • According to CSR-GHRDC B-School Survey 2018, GSIB ranks 1st in Andhra Pradesh and 2nd in International Business
  • GSIB is a member of the prestigious AACSB
  • GITAM University has been accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC.

 

3.    What are the international exposure students get at GSIB?

The students at GSIB get adequate international exposure which helps them academically and professionally (networking opportunities):

  1. GSIB has international collaborations and exchanges with universities in Europe, China, Nepal, South Africa, and the USA. Click here to find out more
  2. GSIB provides an International Immersion Program where students get a chance to visit a university outside of India and collaborate with the students and teachers there. In 2018, the students visited Dubai
  3. Students can choose to study one-two trimesters or carry with their summer internship projects at Burgundy School of Business, Dijon, France or International University of Paris
  4. As part of the student exchange program, international students visit the GSIB campus to study and live with local students
  5. The students also get a chance to learn a Foreign Language (French/German/Spanish/Mandarin) during the first three trimesters
  6. GSIB students get an opportunity to learn from faculty visiting from countries like the Netherlands, China, and Nepal.

 

4.    What is the industry exposure students get at GSIB?

  1. GSIB provides a Campus to Corporate Training Programme
  2. The students get a week-long Industry Interface. They travel to important industrial cities/ports in India under the guidance of faculty member(s)
  3. The students at GSIB also get to work for two months in an organization after completing first-year.

 

5.    How is the student life in GITAM School of International Business?

Students get different opportunities to interact with peers, faculty members, international students and students across India.

  1. Students from reputed colleges across India visit the campus at the time of GSIBfest – annual management festival
  2. The placement committee organizes the annual Industry-Interface event
  3. The students are involved in many social projects conducted under the guidance of faculty members
  4. Students at GSIB can enroll under various student clubs
  5. Students get a platform to participate in seminars and workshops inside and outside the college
  6. As part of international collaborations, students travel outside of India, and many international students visit the campus.

 

6.    What are the facilities students get at GSIB?

  1. The campus is beautifully designed with state-of-the-art infrastructure. There is an Academic and Administrative Block with the latest technologies in the classrooms.
  2. There are facilities like AC rooms with multimedia facilities, AV rooms, Computer lab, AC syndicate rooms, and Faculty area
  3. GSIB has an Academic Information System which helps students and faculty members interact with each other
  4. GSIB provides hostel facilities for students at GSIB
  5. GSIB has Central Library, Centrally Air-conditioned Auditoriums, Open Air Theatre, Cafeterias, Nationalized Banks, Post-Office, Hospital, Temple, Co-operative Store, etc.
  6. The students get ample amount of sports and recreational facilities as well with playgrounds, stadiums and indoor gym.

 

7.    What is the last date to apply for admissions at GSIB?

        The online registration is open till 18th February 2019.

 

8.    What is the procedure to apply for various programs at GITAM School of International Business?

        Indian and Foreign national students can apply either online or offline for the three MBA programs:

  1. Online: Fill the online GSIB 2019 application form (and GET 2019)
  2. Offline: Download and submit the GSIB 2019 application form (and GET 2019) along with DD and mandatory   documents
