MBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, CII School of Logistics

What is Logistics & Supply Chain Management?

Supply chain management involves - sourcing, procurement, conversion and logistics management of goods and services. SCM is the path of a product from the suppliers to the final customers.

Logistics Management is the process that integrates the movement of resources like people, products, services, information, and equipment from storage (preferably) to the final destination (warehouse or end customer)

Although the terms Supply Chain and Logistics are used interchangeably, there is a difference in their scope. SCM is a broader term and is a relatively new concept when compared to logistics. We can say that SCM comprises of Logistics management, but they both individually ensure that the right products are delivered to the right customers on time.
