It’s that time of the year when students are gearing up towards entrance examinations that would seal their fate and decide the institutes they finally get admission in. One of the most popular entrance exam is IBSAT, which will be held on 23rd and 24th December 2023. This exam is conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, for admission to the MBA/PGPM program at all the nine IBS campuses.

1. IBSAT 2023 Syllabus
- The syllabus holds the key to your preparation and is the first step before you launch your preparation for this year’s IBSAT.
- IBSAT 2023 will have four main sections, namely:

2. Expected pattern of IBSAT 2023
Before you appear for the entrance exam, you must know the type of questions to expect in the exam. This will help you prepare better and in a focused manner. The broad pattern of the question paper is as follows:
- Number of questions- 140
- Duration-2 hours
- One mark for every correct answer
- No negative marking
- Number of questions per section-
- 50 questions in Verbal Ability
- 30 questions in Reading Comprehension
- 30 questions in Quantitative Ability
- 30 questions in Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation
3. Mode of Exam
IBSAT 2023 is a computer-based online test, conducted in the English language. Before appearing for the exam, candidates must practice acquainting themselves with the online mode. Looking at the computer screen, working out the solutions and keeping a tab on time simultaneously might prove to be difficult. Therefore, practice is needed.
4. Selection Process
The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education follows a thorough process while selecting the students. There is an extensive selection process in place, which begins with the IBSAT exam. Candidates who clear the entrance are called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews, after which the final merit list is prepared.
5. Expected IBSAT 2023 Cut off
Candidates must be aware of the expected cut-offs of various IBS institutes, based on past trends. The results are expected to be declared in the first week of January 2024. Cut-offs for the different IBS institutes are likely to differ from each other. For example, the qualifying cut of IBS Hyderabad is expected to be around 70-80 percentile, and IBS Kolkata is likely to be around 55-65. For IBS Bangalore, the cut-off is expected to be around 65-75 percentile. Knowing this will help the candidates set their own benchmark before appearing for IBSAT 2023 and prepare their strategy accordingly.
