MICA recently hosted the second edition of its much-anticipated Marketing and Leadership Summit, ‘Insight Out,’ centered on the theme: ‘From Hype to Habit: Sustaining Momentum in a Dynamic Market.’ Organized by the Marketing and Leadership Series Team, the summit brought together industry leaders and visionaries to decode how brands can transform initial buzz into sustained consumer engagement and long-term growth.
The theme delved into how brands can turn initial excitement into enduring consumer engagement, unraveling the fine balance between buzz and sustained growth.
Speaking about the relevance of data, Mr. Avinava Banerjee, Global E-Commerce Head at PepsiCo and a MICA alumnus, shared, “Quick commerce has revolutionized dense markets like India, tapping into the impulse purchase window to drive growth. For large brands, it’s indispensable, with real-time data playing a pivotal role. Platforms like Swiggy and Zomato offer valuable insights into consumer behavior, enabling brands to identify trends, regulate stock, and anticipate demand. From creating the right products to ensuring availability, data is integral to every stage of growth, ensuring brands stay competitive and responsive to market needs.”
Marketing stalwarts such as Mr. Avinava Banerjee, Global E-Commerce Head at PepsiCo, Ms. Vanda Ferrao, Chief Marketing Officer, Wow Skin Science, Mr. Kunal Malhotra, Chief Marketing Officer at Taco Bell, Mr. Sudeep Chawla, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Pidilite, Ms. Shafali Arora, CMI Director at HUL, and Ms. Deepali Nair, Chief Marketing Officer at CK Birla engaged in two thought-provoking panel discussions. These discussions, titled ‘Evolving Consumer Expectations: Adapting for Sustained Engagement in the Digital World’ and ‘Building Trust and Value: Foundations of Long-Term Brand Loyalty’, offered valuable insights into the dynamic world of marketing and consumer engagement.
Sharing her insights, Ms. Vanda Ferrao, CMO, Wow Skin Science, said, “Consumers today are proactive, actively seeking trends rather than waiting for them. This shift in consumption patterns demands agility from brands to identify and react to emerging trends. Small brands excel in this area due to their flexibility. While e-commerce platforms may limit data sharing, they provide enough insights for trend triangulation, helping brands stay ahead in a competitive market.”
The event had two keynote speakers, including Mr. Joydeep Roy, CHRO at PwC, and Mr. Sidharth Shakdher, CMO & Business Head at Paytm, who shared relevant insights on industry trends, business strategies, and consumer behavior. The event empowered MICAns with actionable strategies for today’s dynamic marketing landscape through engaging panel discussions and interactive sessions.
