Birla Institute of Management Technology is hosting the three-day extravaganza, the '3rd PRISM 2023 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE,' from November 17th to 19th. Under the overarching theme of "Reimagining the Future of Business: The Challenges of Leadership, Digitalization, and Sustainability", the conference served as a melting pot of insights and innovative discourse. Distinguished luminaries headlined the inaugural session, including Mr. P Dwarkanath, President of Dr. Pritam Singh Foundation; Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestle India; Dr. Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad; and Dr. H Chaturvedi, Director of BIMTECH.  At the event, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur and Dr. MP Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur also shared their insights among academia, industry leaders, regulators, policy-makers, and technology innovators. The conference aimed to delve into the multifaceted challenges defining the contemporary business landscape, addressing leadership intricacies, the pervasive influence of digitalization, and the imperative of sustainability, promising discussions that are both insightful and transformative.

The '3rd PRISM 2023 International Conference' explored diverse themes, emphasizing the fusion of leadership and technology in navigating turbulent business landscapes. It spotlighted the ethical imperative for humane and sustainable organizational structures. Exploring the role of Indian B-schools in Industry 5.0 and NEP2020, the conference envisioned sustainable business practices in "India 2033" through the synergy of technology and human capital. Addressing the evolving nature of work, the conference underscored the dynamic interplay between digital futures and the power of human potential. This multifaceted exploration exemplified the conference's commitment to tackling contemporary business challenges on nuanced fronts.

Mr. Suresh Narayan, Chairman and MD, Nestle India, reflected the challenges of leadership in the rapidly changing world. Stressing the significance of authenticity, compassion, and humility, he outlined the "six A's" for effective leadership including Authenticity, Agility, Adaptability, Assimilation of technology, Acuity (sharp thinking), and Attitude to change, and said, "The important thing for leaders is to ensure that they don't rock the organization by the fear of artificial intelligence. Look at AI as a positive opportunity for managing change." Drawing inspiration from Sant Kabir and Nelson Mandela, he also highlighted the importance of staying true to one's values and being adaptable in the face of change.

Mr. Bharat Bhaskar, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, emphasized the pivotal role of agility in leadership amid today's volatile environment. Reflecting on the remarkable progress of the past century, he highlighted the transformative shift of Studebaker from horse-drawn carriages to automobiles. Bhaskar shared, "The importance for leaders to swiftly adapt to changing landscapes, recognizing inflection points in business." Additionally, he discussed the introduction of OpenAI as a democratizing force in technology, emphasizing its potential to reshape software development.

Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director at BIMTECH said, "The main purpose of this annual conference is to promote impactful and relevant kind of research in management and associated disciplines. PRISM strives to bring corporate leaders and academic leaders together on a common forum to chart out a bright future for management discipline in India and to make it globally competitive. I am very happy to share with you that many thought leaders, policymakers and these schools' top leaders have lent their support to make this conference a very successful conference."

Mr. P Dwarkanath, President PRISM Foundation expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of BIMTECH in hosting the event and acknowledged the support of key figures like Dr. Ketra Vediji and reflected on the foundation's journey, emphasizing its voluntary and non-profit nature. He also introduced the newly instituted Dr. Pritam Singh Leadership Excellence Awards, honouring outstanding contributions in both corporate and academic spheres. Dwarakanath highlighted initiatives such as a mentoring program for young HR leaders and the Young Leaders Forum, urging support and membership to further these endeavours. He envisioned carrying forward Dr. Pritam Singh's legacy of bridging Western and Indian perspectives and "Our vision is clear—to carry forward the legacy and ideas of Dr. Pritam Singh, who skilfully fused Western thoughts with the global Indian mind-set."

On its inaugural day, The International Conference kicked off with an electrifying lineup of sessions, starting with a Corporate Panel featuring industry stalwarts. Guided by the seasoned moderation of Mr. SY Siddiqui, Ex CHRO at Maruti Suzuki, the panel boasted a stellar cast: Ms. Manu Wadhwa, CHRO-Sony Pictures Networks; Mr. Chitbhanu Nagri, Senior Vice President, People Operations at Razorpay; Mr Samir Prakash, CHRO - Corporate Services, Adani Enterprises; Ms. Rajita Singh, Chief People Officer, Kyndryl and Ms. Pavitra Singh, CHRO, Pepsico, India.

Following this enlightening discussion, Mr. K Srinivas Rao, the visionary Founder of The Strategist Company, took the stage to present an Industry Research on the "Role of Ethics & Governance in Humanizing the Organizations of the Future." Adding to the grandeur of the event, the prestigious 'Dr. Pritam Singh Transformational Leader Award' was bestowed upon Dr. Santrupt Misra, Director, Group Human Resources, Aditya Birla Group, while the illustrious 'Dr. Pritam Singh Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award' was conferred upon Mr. Anil Khandelwal, Former Chairman and MD of Bank of Baroda.
