With career outcomes driving student decisions, demand rises for future-ready undergraduate programmes

As the undergraduate admissions cycle nears closure, students and parents across India are making increasingly outcome-driven decisions, evaluating institutions not only on academic reputation, but also on employability, interdisciplinary learning, and long-term career readiness. This marks a significant shift from traditional degree-led choices to more future-focused academic planning.

Reflecting this shift, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) has announced that registrations for its undergraduate programmes for the 2026–27 academic session will close on 26th May 2026.

The trend is reinforced by recent data. According to the Mercer | Mettl India Graduate Skill Index 2025, only 42.6% of graduates in India are considered employable, highlighting the growing need for institutions to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations.Against this backdrop, institutions offering multidisciplinary learning, experiential exposure, and strong industry integration are seeing greater interest from students seeking career-ready undergraduate education.

The registrations for NMIMS’s undergraduate courses across its campuses in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Shirpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad, for the academic year 2026-2027, are now open. Students will have to take various entrance exams based on their chosen discipline, including NPAT (Commerce), NCET (Engineering and Pharmacy), NLAT (Law), NDAT (Design), and MST (Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Sciences). The last date to register for the undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2026-2027 is 26th May 2026.
