IOCL and MICA Collaborate to Launch “Brand Masters” Program for Future-Ready Energy Leadership

IOCL Corporation Limited (IOCL), India’s largest commercial enterprise in the energy sector, has partnered with MICA, Ahmedabad, to launch “Brand Masters,” a specialized five-day Management Development Program aimed at strengthening leadership communication and strategic brand thinking among IOCL’s managers.

Hosted at MICA’s Ahmedabad campus, the program is designed to address the evolving communication and reputation challenges faced by energy organizations in an increasingly digital, stakeholder-driven environment. The first batch of the program commenced this week, with a second batch scheduled in the coming weeks.

“Brand Masters” goes beyond conventional marketing frameworks to equip participants with advanced skills in corporate communication, crisis management, digital storytelling, and purpose-led branding. The curriculum addresses sector-specific imperatives such as ESG communication, regulatory sensitivity, digital transformation, and reputation management in high-impact environments.

By combining MICA’s academic expertise with IOCL’s operational scale and public responsibility, the program seeks to develop managers into confident, future-ready communicators capable of building trust and credibility across multiple platforms.

“Branding today extends far beyond visibility—it is about creating emotional resonance while remaining aligned with organizational objectives,” said Professor Dr Falguni Vasavada Oza, Lead, Learning Management Development Programs (LDMP), MICA, leading the sessions on campaign design, regulatory frameworks, and strategic evaluation. “Through Brand Masters, we are enabling IOCL’s leaders to design communication initiatives that are creative, measurable, and grounded in the realities of the energy sector.”

A key focus of the program is strengthening internal communication and employee engagement, recognizing employees as the most authentic ambassadors of the brand. Sessions on internal storytelling, safety communication, and organizational alignment aim to ensure that IOCL’s values and purpose are consistently reflected across the organization.

“Effective communication must work from the inside out,” said Professor Dr Ruchi Tewari, CMO, MICA who leads modules on internal branding and employee engagement. “By focusing on storytelling for internal motivation, we help managers connect teams with IOCL’s broader mission. The program is structured to deliver practical, actionable insights drawn directly from real-world energy sector challenges.”
