The 8th Professional Development Training during March 20-24, 2019 is being attended by about 38 participants comprising of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors from engineering colleges across the states of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Karnataka, Bihar Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madya Pradesh, Odhisha, and Tripura. Prof. M.Kannadhasan  and Prof. Dhananjay Bapat are the program directors for this training program and the TEQIP coordinator is Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Dean (Academics).

IIM Raipur

On the first day, March 20, 2019, the first sessions were conducted by Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, on Ice-Breaking and inventories on expectations in Hotel VW canyon. The participants became acquainted with each other through game playing methods so as to reduce inhibition that exists among the faculty members. He urged the participants to allow the facilitators to work on them so that they can take maximum benefits of the five days program. After the Ice-breaking session, Prof Dhananjay Bapat discussed on ‘Vision, Mission and goals in Academia’, wherein the importance of setting aspirations was highlighted and why leaders, as well as organizations, need aspirations. Further, the connection between aspirations and strategy was highlighted. It was followed by a session on “Building teams for effective collaboration” by Prof Pankaj Singh, wherein he highlighted that It is impossible to work effectively if you don’t work on your team building skills. The last session of the day was handled by Prof M Kannadhasan, wherein he discussed the financial system in academia. He highlighted the General Financial Rules, grant-in-aid and loans, budgeting, and procedures for maintaining the books of accounts.
