Great Lakes signs MoU with Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST)

Great lakes

Great Lakes Institute of Management, a leading B-School in India has signed a MoU with the School of Business and Management, the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) whose Executive MBA program was ranked #2 globally by FT in 2015. The MoU was signed by Dr.Bala V Balachandran - Founder, Dean and Chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management and Dr. Jitendra Singh – Dean, School of Business and Management, the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology at HKUST’s campus in the presence of faculty and members of the institute.

The purpose of this MoU is to make possible and to institute academic exchange between Great Lakes and the HKUST Business School. Through this co-operative program, both the institutes will now be able to exchange faculty, graduate management students and research scholars. The MoU also facilitates joint research activities that could eventually lead to a Ph.D program besides organizing international conferences jointly. Immediate possibility foreseen is HKUST’s Executive MBA students doing one residency at Great Lakes along with Great Lakes PGXPM participants. Another area of mutual interest envisaged would be internship and placement opportunities for Great Lakes students in Hong Kong and vice versa.

Signing the MoU, Dr. Bala V Balachandran said, “Great Lakes has always emphasized on its credo – Global Mindset Indian Roots and such collaborations are a way of expanding our horizons globally. I am happy that we have collaborated with HKUST where the culture paves a way for an open environment and an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of knowledge and innovative ideas among students, research scholars and faculty.” Besides the exchange programs, I am positive that Great Lakes and HKUST will work towards newer initiatives in the future with a strong focus on research, he added.
