IFMR Graduate School of Business at Krea University is all set to host their Annual Research Symposium 2020 on 11 December 2020. The symposium will be hosted on a virtual platform and the theme for this year is ‘Inclusion and Sustainability’. The inequalities and exclusion that surfaced during the ongoing pandemic and the recent widespread protests from the BLM movement have served as a wake-up call globally and put a spotlight on how inclusive our societies really are. This symposium aims to highlight evidence-based research towards answering some pertinent questions on inclusion and sustainability in our society.
Vice-Chancellor of Krea University, Dr Sunder Ramaswamy shares, “The combination of IFMR’s 50-year legacy and the fresh agility of Krea University has ensured the seamless transformation of IFMR GSB from a research-based institution to a full-fledged business school. While IFMR GSB’s Annual Research Symposium is virtual and different this year, it’s certainly bigger. With a line-up of sessions by eminent speakers, researchers and practitioners from India and across the globe, this year’s symposium aims to be a platform where ideas are shared and exchanged, leaving everybody with an enriching experience.”
A stellar star-cast of globally reputed academics, social entrepreneurs from various industries, representatives from the government and experts housed in IFMR’s very own cutting-edge research centres will be sharing their insights on a wide range of themes such as Financial Inclusion, Sustainable Finance, FinTech, and Digital Inclusion.
The keynote speaker is Prof Karthik Muralidharan, Tata Chancellor’s Professor of Economics from University of California, San Diego. Some notable speakers at the symposium include academic representatives from international institutions like Yale University, London Business School, National University of Singapore, Auckland University of Technology, and Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies - Geneva.
Senior practitioners from the Indian industry and academics from reputed Indian institutions like Azim Premji University and Indian School of Business will also be contributing to this thought leadership.
The symposium will see active participation from the Indian Government with a session by Rama Devi Lanka - Director, Emerging Technologies, Officer on Special Duty, ITE&C Dept, Government of Telangana and Suniti Nanda - Fintech Officer, Government of Maharashtra.
Dean of IFMR Graduate School of Business, Dr Shobha Das reiterates that the symposium will deep-dive into emerging issues and discuss the way forward. “IFMR GSB has always promoted academic and research excellence. This symposium is a one-of-a-kind virtual marathon of high-quality sessions and presentations all driven by impact,” she shares.
