IIMK Felicitates Leading Entrepreneurs as Part of International Women’s Day Celebrations

The Students’ Alumni Cell (SAC) of IIM Kozhikode celebrated the International Women’s Day at its Campus, recently. Mrs. Parveen Hafeez, Managing Director at Sunrise Hospitals, Kochi was the Chief Guest while Mrs. Aditi Chatterjee - Dean, Silver Hills School officiated as the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs Hafeez, delivered an inspiring lecture summarising her journey as a successful entrepreneur whilst recounting her experiences and aspirations, kept alive by the struggles and limitless passion to achieve her goal. Mrs Chatterjee graced the event and felicitated the guests with mementos as a token of appreciation for their achievements.  This was followed by an energizing panel discussion with the theme- "Internet and Women Empowerment: How digital technologies help in furthering the movement for equal rights?”

IIMK alumni, Mrs Sangeetha Devanathan, Mrs Liz Thomas and Mrs Kanika Goyal with years of abundant experience in various industry domains also shared their experiences on a changing world for women and the resultant challenges. The panel discussion was moderated by first year student Ms. Ritu Shukla  and students from Providence Women’s College, Government Law College, GVHSS, Nadkavu and IIMK actively participated by asking probing questions to the Panelists. The batch of PGP 2008 alumni felicitated the girls from “Team Gem” (GVHSS, Nadakavu), who had secured first place in the competition organised by TYE (Tie Young Entrepreneurs) 2020 and sponsored an amount of Rs. 1,50,000 for their travel to USA. Two of the best women athletes of IIMK's Sports league, Ms. Sejal Ghuge (best volleyball player) and Ms. Ridhima Bora (best basketball player) were also honoured with 301 AED each by the Dubai Chapter of IIMK Alumni Association.

SAC thanked all student attendees from various educational institutions in Kozhikode, teachers, parents and other attendees for the successful celebration of Women’s Day in IIMK campus.
