Prof. C. P. Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI Gurugram while addressing the audience said “As a teacher if I am not a researcher, I am not justifying my profession. The objective behind rigorous and relevant research should not only be knowledge creation but also knowledge dissemination”.
Talking about the seminar Prof. Radha R. Sharma, Dean Research, MDI Gurugram said “Rigorous and relevant research is the need of the hour”.
Dr. Kumar has also been selected as one of the exclusive “Legends in Marketing”. His research work is compiled and featured in the “Legends in Marketing” Series, as a 10-Volume Collection by Sage Publications in 2012 with commentaries from scholars worldwide.
Elucidating the importance of research Dr. V. Kumar discussed sample of studies that showed how both rigor and relevance can be achieved. He shared that relevance starts with the origination of the ideas and the rigor is brought in the execution of the idea. The process of research begins with how research can be conceptualized as an embedded research; wherein the companies actively participate with the scholars in generating the required insights.
Research studies focusing on B2B, and B2C as well as interdisciplinary studies were also exemplified during discussion. Dr. Kumar shared the importance of do’s and don’ts the researcher should keep in mind while submitting a paper to scholarly journals.
The seminar witnessed participation of around 50 plus delegates from top institutions like IIT, FMS, IIFT, IMT and many others from across Delhi/ NCR. MDI Gurugram through this no profit cause has tried to provide a platform to the faculty members across Delhi/ NCR on how to do meaningful research.
