MICA hosted its 28th annual convocation ceremony for the 28th batch of its flagship PGDM-Communications Program, 3rd batch of its PGDM Program and the 32nd Batch of the Crafting Creative Communication (CCC) Course. Scholars of MICA's Fellowship Program in Management-Communication (FPM-C) Batch 7,8, and 9 were also awarded their fellowships.
The celebration witnessed 215 graduating students brimming with pride, joy, and, hope for an even more illuminous future as they received their diplomas and certificates, to mark the rewarding culmination of their glorious and illustrious time spent at MICA.
CHIEF GUEST’S ADDRESS:
Delivering the convocation speech, Mr. Neil George, MD, Nivea India said, “Let hard work and world class quality be your guiding lights. You are going to compete in a global pool of talent. Right now, there are youngsters like you graduating from Berlin in Germany, Sao Paolo in Brazil, Bangkok in Thailand, The Moscow State University, and the Kelloggs Graduate School of Management. Your customers and employers will assess you against these global citizens. So, if you want to keep the Indian flag flying high, take a pledge to deliver world class quality. There should be no ‘Chalta Hain’ attitude.”
He further urged the students to celebrate their uniqueness. “Celebrate your life because you are unique. Celebrate your achievements because you worked hard for them. Don't worry about what you don't have and don't get too focused on what happened to others.”
AWARDS CEREMONY:
As part of the yearly awards distribution, the institute announced academic excellence awards for the students. Hitesh Khanna and Vaibhav Pachisia were awarded Gold Medals for academic excellence for the courses PGP and CCC, respectively, in memory of the Late AG Krishnamurthy, the renowned Advertising stalwart and the founding father of MICA.
MICA introduces award in the name of Prof. Jay Trivedi who passed away due to COVID-19 in 2021
To honor its beloved professor of digital marketing, Prof. Jay Trivedi, MICA has introduced an award in his memory. Prof. Jay Trivedi Memorial Best Student Award for Digital Communication Management was given to the student who topped all the courses of the DCM specialization. The institute held an award ceremony on April 4 where Prof. Jay Trivedi’s wife Mrs. Shilpa Trivedi gave away the award to PGP students Mahima Ganesh and Hitesh Khanna.
Prof. Rajneesh Krishna, Registrar and Associate Dean for Regulatory Affairs at MICA, said, “The institution of Prof Jay Trivedi Memorial Award is a tribute to one of the most respected professors of MICA, and showcases the institutional culture at MICA where the interaction between the students and professors is the core. It exemplifies our respect for all the faculty members who cocreate knowledge with students in the classroom and create a magic which changes everybody forever. It is our homage to that magician Prof Jay Trivedi.”
