MICA, Ahmedabad, India’s premier management school for Strategic Marketing and Communications, concluded Impetus 3.0, the biggest marketing challenge for undergraduate students. Designed to test the business acumen and creativity of future business leaders, MICA Impetus 3.0 gave the students a sneak-peek into MICA’s life and the world of marketing through a series of out-of-the-box quizzes and real-life challenges.
This year, Impetus 3.0 saw over 10,500+ registrations from colleges across various parts of the country, making it one of the biggest undergraduate brainstorming challenges with prize money of Rs. 10 lakhs across multiple rounds. This year’s theme, ‘Entrepreneurial Transformations in the Digital Era,’ required the students to present their business start-up idea relevant to digital transformations.
While the competition virtually began with its first round on November 6, 2021, the national finale was held on campus. The top 5 finalists teams consisted of 13 students who pitched their ideas to the jury comprising MICA professors Dr.Falguni Vasavada Oza and Dr.U.T.Rao and Mr.Mani Makkar, Product Marketing Manager, Netomi, and MICA alumnus.
A second-year student representing the Impetus team from MICA Digjaya Dhawan said, “The institute followed all COVID-related protocols, and the teams had to submit their RTPCR test reports and vaccination certificates to enter the campus.”
The intense power-packed finale witnessed a variety of innovative ideas by the finalists across sectors, including E-Retail, Sustainability, and Fintech.
Team MSR, comprising Mrityunjay Pandey, Risshit Bhandari, and Shivaansh Harit from Symbiosis Center for Management Studies (SCMS), Noida; Maharaja Surajmal Institute (MSI), New Delhi; Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), Delhi emerged victorious by grabbing the first position and prize money Rs. 2,00,000.
Talking about their experience, students from the Team MSR said, “Little did we know that this competition will change our lives in the best way possible. We are so thankful to MICA for such a fun-filled experience that gave us such deep insights into the business world and how we can think like the budding entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Visiting the MICA campus made me realize what it feels like to be at the epitome of innovation, creativity, and management at the School of Ideas.”
Team Advertere comprising Dhruv Joshi and Pushtii Parekh from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, and H. R. College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai, stood at second position and won the prize money worth Rs.1,00,000. Team Vipanan India Manav Jain and Aishwary Saxena from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)(BHU), Varanasi, emerged at third position and won prize money worth Rs. 75000.
