MICA Records 100% Summer Placements with 25% Increase in Highest Stipend
MICA, Ahmedabad - India’s premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communication, registered 100% summer placements for the 24th Batch of its flagship PGDM-Communications programme.
A total of 177 students of a batch of 180 chose to be placed through the institute’s Campus Placements process. A total of 66 companies participated in the summer placements, with 2 international recruitment partners, and 64 domestic partners.
The average domestic stipend was recorded as INR 60,200, with an increase of 15% from last year. The trend of international placements from MICA continued this year too with students securing internships overseas. The highest number of offers were made in the Digital and E-Commerce Sector, followed closely by FMCD, Retail and Manufacturing sectors, and Advertising, Communication and Brand Strategy sectors. Some of the recruiters from these sectors were Amazon, Bajaj Auto, Walmart, Royal Enflield, Future Group, Shopclues, Publicis, Leo Burnett, DDB Mudra Group.
Other prominent recruiters included Disney, Sony Pictures Networks, HT Media, GroupM, RedBull, Godfrey Phillips, Beiersdorf, L’Oréal, RBL Bank, and Dell among others.
Associate Director, External Relations and Marketing, Prof. Vaneet Chhibber says, “The Summer Placements this year are a reinforcement of the increasing value the industry attaches to students from MICA. There is an appreciable growth in all the important indicators, right from the number of participating companies to stipends given to students. Internships have been concluded across a wide spectrum of industry segments, given MICA's leadership in strategic marketing and communication management, as an Institute.”
President and Director, Dr. Shailendra Mehta commented on the successful placement season. He said, “MICA is unique in the way we admit students through not one but two tests – including our very own MICAT, which tests for creativity, empathy and out of the box thinking. Therefore, MICANs combine innovative thinking with rigor. No doubt our students are making a mark in some of the most innovative companies in the world.”
