Padma Bhushan Ela Bhatt gives Valediction Speech at International Communication Management Conference 2017

The valediction ceremony of the ICMC 2017 was a fitting tribute to the tireless efforts, perseverance, diligence and passion for excellence that MICA exemplifies. In tradition of the same, the commencement address was delivered by Padma Bhushan Ela Bhatt, Founder, Self Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA), Ahmedabad, India.

The distinguished guest brought to the stage her incredible journey. She also shared the values which made her journey such a stellar lesson to all those people whose hearts go to those in distress. She stated that life’s lessons could be learnt by those who do not forget humility, patience and solidarity.

She observed that her journey was filled with many such lessons that were made possible because she never stopped learning. She concluded on the positive note that the future belonged to young students who needed to have compassion, passion and vision.

The address was followed by an note by Professor Anita Basalingappa of the proceedings of the YSRC which was the first event of the ICMC. This was observed as a flag ship event since this commencement was unique to the ICMC tradition of MICA. Professor Basalingappa stated that such unique sessions and their importance to the academic community could not be overstated. The reason for the same was that such opportunities and platforms could become excellent opportunities for greater research excellence.

In line with this, the Dean of MICA, Dr. Preeti Shroff, felicitated the winners of the YSRC. The Dean stated that it gave the Institute great pleasure to offer these awards. This was followed by the delivery of a succinct and precise overview of the complete proceedings of the ICMC, 2017 by Mr. Rahul Gadekar, the Secretary of the ICMC, 2017. He stated that the entire events of the conference progressed quite smoothly due to the tireless efforts of the entire MICA community. Post the conclusion of the report delivery, Mr. Rahul Gadekar was duly offered a sign of recognition for the duties he had fulfilled in an excellent manner. The day concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Sunita Mall who expressed gratitude towards the President of MICA, Mr. Madhukar Kamath, the Dean of MICA, Dr. Preeti Shroff and all the inimitable members of the MICA community.
