IIM Raipur will inaugurate the 6th Batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and 4th Batch of Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) on 25 June 2015. The inauguration will be followed bya four day Orientation Programme. The orientation program is organised every year to benefit the students who are about to embark onto a new phase in their life. The orientation programme will run from 25th June to 28th June 2014. Some of the top corporate and bureaucratic leaders and sportspersons are being invited to share their experiences and motivate the young students of the new batch.

Mr. Prahlad Kakkar, Advertising Film Director, Genesis Film Production, Mumbai will be the Chief Guest for the occasion. Prahlad founded his firm in 1977 and virtually invented a genre of television advertising in India in the years that followed. Prahlad has ruled the advertising world with his brand of irreverent humor, memorable brand building campaigns and has created Award winning commercials for the most reputed Corporates and agencies in India and the Asia Pacific region.

After having assisted renowned feature Filmmaker, Mr.Shyam Benegal, he moved onto Advertising films. “To tell a story in 30 seconds in the most engaging way possible” remains Prahlad’s raison d’être for his continued passion about ad filmmaking, even 30 years later. Known as the “Ad guru” he has been instrumental in changing the face of advertising in our country bringing in the appropriate “regional Indianness” and values into an urban context through his films, creative workshops, articles and interviews. He has helped create memorable campaigns for brands like Pepsi “YehiHai Right Choice Baby! Aha!”, Gold spot “The Zing Thing”, Maggie “2 minutes!”, Britannia “Ting Ting Ti Ting”, Limca “ZorkaJhatka” and Maggi Sauces “It's different”. He is best known for his work on the famous Pepsi TV commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar. Mr. Kakkar is renowned for his candid and outspoken nature. An avid scuba diver, in 1995, he set up 'Lacadives', a scuba-diving school, along with his wife MitaliKakar at Kadmat Island, in collaboration with the Govt. of Lakshadweep. Pursuing his passion for scuba diving, in 2000, he became a CMAS 2 Star Scuba Diving Instructor. His other interests include Gourmet cooking, Reading, Swimming, Snorkeling, Squash and Horse Riding. He also runs a coffee shop, and Casa Amore, a wine bar and restaurant, set up in Mumbai in 2001.

Apart from lectures by eminent personalities the Orientation Programme will also include a variety of activities like Yoga session by Dr. Siddhi Sharma and outbound programme filled with fun, frolic and games at the end of each day by Praxis-EL. These activities are developed to address the major task of assimilating the new energy, fresh intellect and rich diversity of cultures that the new students bring in the campus.
