The students of Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur) were given lecture by Dr. Saugata Mukherjee, Regional Director, Confederation of Indian Industry (C.I.I.), Eastern Region. The CII which was established in 1992, shares a vision to be catalyst toward building India as a developed nation by 2020.
He also shared the mission of CII which was to become a one – stop shop, be customer focused, have world class services, involve in global thinking local action, become learning and caring organization, and having a partnership approach with the students so that they have a greater insight about the organization.
He also emphasized that they believe in development of the industry, society and community at large. Growth has to be inclusive and sustainable. He shared with the students that CII had worked proactively with the Government on policy formation as they are a credible voice of the industry, the think tank.
He also told about the Brand India identity the CII was working on and the India everywhere campaign at DAVOS held this year. Later, he enlightened the students on various programs for established for smart, small and medium companies and other activities like NSDC (National Skill Development Centre). They started a young India movement to develop student network and he also proposed that a plan be developed with IIM Raipur.
The students asked him plethora of questions ranging from how to help fund start ups through CII to skill development and livelihood development in areas around Raipur. The students also shared about “Aakash”, the startup community by the students of IIM Raipur, to Dr. Saugata Mukherjee. It was highly interactive and informative session for the students.
