MICA

Students of MICA, Ahmedabad, have emerged as national winners at a business case study competition Tata Steel-a-Thon 9.0, organized by Tata Steel Ltd.

Second-year students Aishwarya Kasera and Abhilasha Kukreja, along with first-year student Tanmay Mahapatra from 'Team Fluke,' bagged prize money of Rs. 2,50,000, pre-placement offers as well as internship opportunities as part of the win.

Tata Steel-a-Thon is Tata Steel's annual business challenge for premier B-Schools in India. It offers students the chance to work on real-life business challenges and get mentored by Tata Steel Senior Leadership and Management.

Students of MICA competed against 5 teams from other B-schools, including MDI, Gurgaon, IIM Ahmedabad, and IMT Ghaziabad, to name a few, in the power-packed national finale held in Kolkata. The teams had to submit ideas and solutions on any one of the themes, including Grow More (Business), Do More (Sustainable Value Chain) and Live More (Employee Well-Being). Team Fluke of MICA chose the theme 'Grow More.'

Sharing his experience, Tanmay Mahapatra said, "It seemed surreal at first to be among the top 16 teams in the grand finale from 9000+ registrations in the first round. It was thrilling to be presenting before the senior management of TATA Steel. I felt proud to represent my college MICA on such a platform."

Speaking about the competition, Aishwarya Kasera and Abhilasha Kukreja said, "Tata steel-a-Thon was a unique competition. The experience it provided us is unparalleled. The month-long journey that led us to the finale feels magical and unbelievable. We cannot thank this competition enough for everything it gave us - a team with the best minds to work with, learning to deal with stressful situations and timelines, networking and making new friends from different B-schools, and developing problem-solving skills.
