Swiss National Day was organized at MICA

Published : Monday, 03 August, 2015 02:28 PM

Swiss National Day is celebrated to mark the actions which led to the foundation of Switzerland

  • It is traditionally celebrated with barbeque, drinks and  fireworks in Swiss cities
  • Town Governors in different cities of Switzerland officially organize the event  for all residents to come together and rejoice
  • The Cultural Committee at MICA ensured celebration of the same to commemorate exchange students  from  Zurich

Event at B School - MICA

MICA is currently hosting three students from the State of Zurich, Switzerland for an exchange program in partnership with the IAM Institute of Applied Media Studies, ZHAW, Winterthur.

The cultural committee at the college organized festivities for the Swiss National Day which is held on the 1stof August  each year, to make the exchange students  feel at home. Activities such as drawing parallels between the culture of Switzerland and India were carried out involving all students of the college.

The Mess (Canteen) prepared a Swiss dish called ‘ROSTI’ for the students and faculty along with Swiss chocolates for all. The evening saw everyone dressed in red and white (the colour of the Swiss flag) and Swiss music during mess hours.

Speaking at the occasion, Sara Osmani, one of the three exchange students said, “It was a lot of fun for all three of us as we brought something from our nation to MICA and everyone wished us and enjoyed the celebrations.”

MICA encourages the celebration of culture and exposes its students to traditional practices from across borders. Students study culture as they hone their management and communication skills, thus developing their personalities in a wholesome manner.
