TEDxMICA ORGANIZES SALON EVENT ON CAMPUS
On Saturday, TEDxMICA hosted the third edition of its salon event. The theme for the event was ‘Igniting Imagination’ which saw enlightening discussions by students, faculty and several participants from outside of Ahmedabad.
The salon event is aimed at stimulating the TEDx experience at a smaller scale by creating engaging discussions around a set of curated TEDx talks. The event featured three talks which included ‘The surprising habits of original thinkers’ by Adam Grant, ‘Taking imagination seriously’ by Janet Echelman and ‘Creative Aerobics’ by Arpan Yagnik who was present at the venue and who talked about his views on the subject. The event took place in the MICA campus at Shela, in Ahmedabad. MICA has successfully conducted two other salon events last year, one at variety café in Prahlad nagar and the second one in the MICA Campus.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
